Yeah, that won't be the same if he can't wear #5.. If they don't let him, I say he should wear #23 after MJ.

And seriously, when you already have Dom Davis signed to a pretty hefty contract, doesn't it just seem peculiar to bring in what would be the highest-paid running back in the NFL (see: a guy who hasn't carried the ball once versus an NFL defense)?
It's not so much that I hate Mario Williams. After all, I'm not a scout, so I don't know about his footwork, explosiveness, or any of that stuff. But what I do know is that Reggie Bush has the potential to be a game-changing player.

Not only that, but Bush brought it in every game this year. I'm a little skeptical of Mario because, as I've mentioned before, in all their games against quality conference opponents this year, Williams did squat.

Now, I could be wrong about Williams, and he could end up being the next Dwight Freeney or Jevon Kearse, but I think that with all the information available to the Texans, they made the wrong choice.

I guess only time will tell

Lets look at it this way.. Who would you rather have on your team? Tomlinson or Freeney?

See, that's why I take Reggie Bush because I truly believe he's going to be a top 3 back in the league with his ability to run and catch out of the backfield

I was a little curious, so I looked up Freeney's college career. This is what he did his senior season at 'Cuse:

vs. Georgia Tech (8-5): 2 sacks
vs. Tennessee (11-2): 2 sacks
vs. Central Florida (6-5): 2 sacks
vs. Auburn (7-5): 2 sacks
vs. East Carolina (6-6): 2 sacks
vs. Rutgers (2-9): .5 sack
vs. Pittsburgh (7-5): .5 sack
vs. Temple (4-7): 2.5 sacks
vs. Virginia Tech (8-4): 1 sack
vs. West Virginia (3-8): 2 sacks
vs. Miami (12-0): Had his string of 17 straight games with a sack snapped as Hurricane All-American offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie held him to no tackles or pressures *Note: McKinnie did not allow a sack all through his college career
vs. Boston College (8-4): .5 sack
vs. Kansas St. (6-6): No sacks

His junior season, he had 13 sacks in 7 games

That's a good question. What do you think the Colts would say? Probably Freeney, IMO.

I think it depends on which team I'm coaching. If I've already got a good, young trio of skill players, and NOTHING for a front seven on defense, Freeney is absolutely the pick. It's not like Tomlinson's ever won a playoff game himself.

D, I can't really argue Freeney with you. The guy is a top-flight DE, and obviously always has been. One thing it's worth noting, though, is that when the Colts drafted him in '02, MANY experts bashed the pick, saying he was too small, that he went too high.

I was just thinking about it...if Reggie Bush ends up being a bust, I'm going to look REALLY silly. Then again, so will a lot of other people

Haha, no kidding. My supporting Mario is so much safer, since 95% of football fans bashed the pick. If he's the next Reggie White, I look golden; if not, oh well, no one really notices.
