I don't know, I know Bonds is an asshole but would you have signed the ball? The guy was probably yelling obsene things 3 hours prior about an issue he knows little about, and then expects Bonds to sign the ball afterwards?

I don't know.. I guess whatever Bonds does will never be accepted.. I saw the press conference right after the game and they asked Barry if he wanted any of these "historic" baseballs and he said flat out..no.. He went out of his way to then say that someone can better their lives with these baseballs and if he was in their shoes he would definitrly keeps the balls as well.

I probably would have just said o hell with it and signed the guy's ball, but that's me.. I'm sure if they were back in SF he would have had no problem doing so..

It's hard to get on him when he sits there taking abuse for 3 or 4 hours straight and then those very same people expect him to do them a favour. At least he shook the dude's hand and took a picture.

Ths chase is disturbing.. MLB should be embarassed the way they handled steroids in the 80's and 90's.. You know they knew exactly what was going on and yet they sat back and did nothing.

I think the people who have the most to be ashamed about is the players union, for fighting against steroid testing for so long. Even when the whispers about steroids became too loud to ignore, the players union fought tooth and nail to prevent steroid testing, harming their own clients in the process. I have no idea how the leadership of the union hasnt been fired yet

I really don't know what to say about this.. After tonight he may very well pass Babe Ruth and then it's done forever.. Ruth will never catch him again..

It's really weird.. I've only been watching baseball obviously for about 15 years but it's always been Aaron, Ruth.. one, two.. and with all the controversy surrounding this I really feel like the game has been cheated..

I'm not even putting the blame on Bonds.. We've talked about this before. Steroids could make an average player..good A good player great.. and a great player Immortal..

That's what Bonds was.. A great player and now he's immortal. I don't know how much steroids helped him.. There were a lot of factors including smaller ballparks, and expansion pitching.. and then you factor in that he's not on steroids now and still will end up with a lot of homers based on total at-bats..

It's unfortunate.. People wonder why Giambi and Sheffield and others don't get as much flack.. It's because they aren't as great as Bonds is. It's that simple. Bonds has become the leader in all of this but I just can't justify putting the blame on him..

Many players from the past have addmitted that if steroids were available to them, they would have used.. Anything to get an edge..

I really have to blame the owners and the player's association more than anything.. It's too bad they are turning this into a witch hunt with Bonds because now it's just making things even worse for everyone.

Also, to Giambi's credit, he did kinda admit to using steroids. Although he never came out and said "I did steroids", he issued that public apology, and anybody with half a brain knew what he was apologizing for.

The thing that bothers people about Barry is that there's so much evidence against him, and he just keeps denying and denying and denying. And it doesnt help that he's one of the biggest assholes in recent sports history. Giambi is at least a personable and well-liked guy.

But, I dont understand why Sheff doesnt catch more flak.

I'm sure you must have seen the new quotes about Sheff and his injury.. He says it's time for him to start worying about himself. Umm.. when did he not just worry about himself? lol

It's obvious he's still pissed about the contract situation.
