Just heard on ESPN radio that the niners have acquired QB Trent Dilfer from the Cleveland Browns. I don't know the details yet but it's nice to have someone on the team is who actually capable of playing the position.
I heard about this last night and the guys at my work were like "Who the hell would want to trade for Dilfer?"
I responded. "all the guy ever does is win"
It seems that wherever he goes he shores up some teams miserable QB situation then gets moved along when their rookie get drafted or is ready to play.
I think Dilfer has kinda gotten the shaft over his career. Dilfer is by no means Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, but he is certainly a servicable QB. GOod move by the 49ers. Alex Smith needs more time to grow.

It's fine to say he was the "right" QB for the Ravens in 2000 (when he still started only 9 games and threw 11 INTs), but come on dude. The guy has started well over 100 football games, and besides his one year in Baltimore, he's only taken a team to the playoffs once.
