Ryan Giggs is loving life at the heart of Manchester United's surge for success.
At almost 35, Giggs has finally abandoned the left-wing station he has occupied for so long.
Yet it has not dimmed his talent and while Wayne Rooney received plenty of plaudits for his performance against West Brom on Saturday, many pundits felt Giggs would have been more deserving as a man of the match.
In the heart of United's midfield, Giggs pulled all the right strings.
And while Sir Alex Ferguson does have other options, the Welshman's presence would be an unwelcome one as far as opponents Celtic are concerned if he appears at Old Trafford again on Tuesday.
"It is not a role I am unfamiliar with because I played in midfield when I was younger," he said.
"I just try to use my experience.
"I don't think some players are used to opponents trying to take them on in central midfield, so that can work to my advantage.
"Maybe I will still play the odd game on the wing but it is difficult to play there when you are not getting up and down.
"The manager sees me in a different role, so this is something that has been developing over the last three or four years."
Having started Saturday's game, the chances are Giggs will be on the bench on Tuesday night, as he was in Moscow when he came on to help United win the Champions League by beating Chelsea in May.
Giggs' competitive instinct means it is not a role he enjoys. He just appreciates it is necessary.
"I would definitely rather start games and I almost don't want to make too much of an impact because I don't want to be known as a supersub," he said.
"But it is not a problem. Playing in matches here and there suits me fine.
"As long as I know which games I will be playing in, I can prepare myself in training. I accept I am not going to play every week."
