Newcastle's new interim manager Joe Kinnear may have to wait up to a month before he can sit in the dugout due to an old touchline ban he must serve.
Out of work for four years, Kinnear was banned in 2004 for mocking a referee when he was Nottingham Forest boss.
It is not clear if Saturday's 2-1 loss to Blackburn will count as part of the ban as Kinnear will not officially take charge of Newcastle team until Monday.
If it does not, he will have to wait until 20 October to sit in the dugout.
Only appointed until the end of October, Kinnear will definitely have to sit in the stands for next Sunday's game against Everton at Goodison Park.
