Arsenal came from a goal behind to record a well-earned victory at Bolton, and climb to the top of the Premier League table.
Kevin Davies had given Bolton an early lead when he headed home Joey O'Brien's corner from six yards out.
Arsenal responded well with Emmanuel Eboue equalising from close range, before Nicklas Bendtner bundled home Denilson's cross a minute later.
Denilson sealed the win, side-footing Emmanuel Adebayor's low cross.
Liverpool were left lamenting a second-minute disallowed goal after they were held to a goalless draw at home by newly promoted Stoke.
Steven Gerrard had the ball in the back of the net after 76 seconds from a free-kick - only for the goal to be controversially ruled out for offside.
Stoke continued to frustrate the home side as Thomas Sorensen saved Robbie Keane's 51st-minute strike.
And Andy Griffin's late goal-line clearance ensured the match was drawn.
Gianfranco Zola's reign as West Ham manager got off to a good start thanks to two goals from David di Michele.
His first was deflected off Steven Taylor and the second was a follow-up after Shay Given blocked his shot.
West Ham eased off after di Michele set up a third for Matthew Etherington and they were soon made to pay for it.
Robert Green was beaten by Michael Owen and then had to make two point-blank saves as Newcastle rallied but West Ham held on to keep their 100% home record.
Blackburn snatched a late winner after boss Paul Ince made a series of attacking substitutions in a bruising encounter with Fulham at Ewood Park.
With the game looking like it was drifting towards a draw, Roque Santa Cruz nodded into the path of substitute Matt Derbyshire in the 84th minute.
And Derbyshire met the header with a crisp finish to seal all three points.
Brett Emerton rattled the frame of Mark Schwarzer's goal just before half-time, while Fulham created few real chances.
Substitute Michael Chopra celebrated his first appearance of the season by scoring two late goals to give Sunderland victory in a frantic derby.
Chopra ran on to Kieran Richardson's through-ball and slid the ball past Ross Turnbull for the opener.
And he tapped home the second in injury-time to seal the win.
Middlesbrough were on top for much of the game but keeper Craig Gordon made several fine saves and Stewart Downing blasted a penalty over the bar.
So yeah I was in a horrible mood thanks to this until now... at least my rugby team can WIN.

Just terrible timing that result. Just when confidence was high after beating us. When you drop points against teams like Stoke it doesn't matter. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
