They also happen to have one of the best running backs in the league (when healthy) in McAllister.
What do you think the Saints will do with him? I personally think they are insane to hold onto him. They have so many holes in their team that they really have no choice but to trade him at this point.
He has a low salary as well that makes him insanely attractive to just about anyone looking for a back.
What do you think is a reasonable asking price for him? 1st round pick next year? An already established player?
Inquiring minds want to know.

It was to my understanding that they signed Deuce to a long extension and he's almost impossible to trade.. at least that's what I thought..
I think they are going to hold on to him and split carries with Bush. Bush is more then just a running back.. He can hurt teams in the return game as well as lining up at WR.
I think they should keep him. Because I doubt any teams are going to take the risk and trade for him. Plus they can use him in the beginning of the season while bush adjusts to the NFL.

I agree with Rambo and Blitz. Deuce signed an 8-year, 50-million-dollar contract a couple years ago, and I really don't think the Saints can afford to trade him this season.
I also think it'd be good to keep around so they can ease Bush into the offense, rather than giving him the rock 25 times a game from the start. If Deuce plays well this year, maybe they can find a way to deal him next offseason.
But in today's NFL (see: last year's Packers), it definitely pays to have more than one starting-caliber RB.
Ok. Fine keep Deuce this year, but surely in the long run it would be detrimental to both players if they both remained on the team, no?

Yea, I can't see this being long term having them both on the team. Their egos are too big that they will not want to share touches. When they can go on another team and easily be the main guy there.

It's interesting to note that McAllister was drafted into a similar situation, back when the Saints still had Ricky.
I think Ricky was still on his rookie contract when he was dealt to the Phins though, so the cap hit was manageable. I honestly don't think the Saints even consider trading Deuce until next season, once Bush has proven he can be THE guy, and Deuce has raised his value back to where it should be.
