Well they are simply potentially doing what they have been getting criticized for, for a long time now because Robinho is not coming cheap, it is believed to be around £27m. Chelsea are constantly buying players for ridiculous sums, only to sell them on a few years later for a tiny fraction of the original price. The latest two victims are Shevchenko and now possibly Shaun Wright-Phillips who cost £30m and £21m respectively, where as we are not sure the price Shevchenko went back for and SWP appears to be going back for £5m-£8m.
I understand that they are rich beyond belief because of 'big boss' Roman Abramovich, but throwing money around like this even for a billionaire is fucking ridiculous, if Robinho flops like I think he will, history again is doomed to repeat itself with him either going back to Madrid or somewhere else for a tiny sum of what he is coming for.

I think Robinho could well flop too, but on the other hand they want to play more attractive football and they could do with someone with his skill. I personally think that sum is too much and there is a good chance he could fail in the Premiership. The Premiership is obviously a very good league technically, but the physical aspect is still a lot greater than Robinho would be used to in Spain. That said, Deco seems to have taken to it well.
I would say that he could be a good signing, but could be a very bad one. At £27m, and considering their start to the season, the players yet to come back and the team they already have at their disposal, it is not a gamble worth taking.

Well it seems evident that if players are overpriced then they flop, Deco came for a sum of what he's worth to Chelsea, for £8m he is a fucking bargain, I mean Torres cost £22m but he's worth more than that, we all know that.
I don't know, high profile Brazilian's don't seem to fare too well in the Premier.

True but that could change. How many high profile Brazilians have actually been signed?
Gilberto was high profile and did well.
Elano is pretty high profile and has done well.
I take your point, but sometimes players who are overpriced on the face of it go on to prove that to the team they are worth the money, such as Carrick, Hargreaves.

Yes but when Hargreaves is back, Carrick will be back on the bench as either a second half player or 5-10 mins at the end player, he's too good for that but the reality is, Hargreaves is better.

What does that prove? The only thing that tells you is that there were better players out there, because Hargreaves came in and pushed him straight out. He should go to a smaller club again lol.

He definitely didn't push him straight out, look at the stats.
Sometimes you talk as if you've never even heard of squad rotation. It all depends on the game. We have several midfielders who all bring different qualities to the table. Eg. Scholes with his goal threat, passing, composure etc, Carrick with his passing, positioning, interceptions, tackling back, Hargreaves with his tackling, tenacity, energy and Anderson who is physical and can also go forward.
