Everton have announced the club have agreed a deal to sign Denmark international defender Lars Jacobsen, subject to a medical.

The right-back parted company with his former club Nurnberg in June and is poised to join the Toffees on a one-year contract for a free transfer.

Jacobsen is set to be unveiled as manager David Moyes' first signing of the summer on Tuesday morning.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed spells with Odense, Hamburg and FC Copenhagen, and boasts UEFA Champions League and Uefa Cup experience.
Told you they had no money, they are resorted to signing a player a small German team don't want.

I wouldn't call Hamburg small but I will agree that there strapped for cash.
