Manchester City have agreed a fee to sign Belgium international defender Vincent Kompany from Hamburg, according to the German club.

The 22-year-old defender, who has played 23 times for his country, began his career at Belgian club Anderlecht.

Kompany is regarded as one of the brightest central defenders in European football and if confirmed would be manager Mark Hughes's third signing.

Hughes has already signed striker Jo and defender Tal Ben Haim.
I misheard on the radio that it was United and I was like... oh for fuck sake, but City? WTF is that, why aren't bigger clubs in for him?

Well he is great on FM....

But in real life I have not seen enough of him to comment on whether bigger teams should be in. I know we wouldn't be because it is too hard for a young defender to break into our team. Hence Pique's departure.

And they seem to pick some players to randomly make amazing.

In general though, young players who are highly rated on FM often become very good.
