Charlton midfielder Amdy Faye has joined Stoke on trial in a bid to secure a move to the Premier League newcomers.

Faye, who moved to The Valley from Newcastle for £2million in August 2006, had a loan spell with Rangers last season and does not appear to be part of Alan Pardew's plans.

The Senegal international could now feature for Tony Pulis' side in tonight's pre-season friendly against Osasuna at the Britannia Stadium.

Summer signings Thomas Sorensen, Dave Kitson and Seyi Olofinjana are expected to make their home debuts against the Spanish side.
Okay so he has Premiership experience, that is something they need... but does it really make sense to take a player that a Championship team don't want?
