NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein that Baron Davis has reached a verbal agreement with the Clippers on Tuesday night and will sign a new multi-year contract with the club after the league wide moratorium on signings and trades is lifted July 9.
Davis surprised the Warriors by opting out of the final season of his $17.8 million contract on Monday.
Sources told ESPN.com that Davis, 29, will receive a five-year deal worth an estimated $65 million.
"From a basketball standpoint it's always been about winning for Baron," his agent Todd Ramasar told the Los Angeles Times. "This presented a good opportunity to do that to pair him with Chris Kaman and Elton Brand is expected back."
uh...wow? I'm not suprised at all but I'd love to see Baron back in GS.

They cant sign Corry, Elton & Baron so its just gonna be Baron and Elton leading the team. It would be mark out worthy except for the fact one star like to run the floor, the other has problems running. Clippers fail in all honesty. Depth > star power.
On a side note: How screwed is G State now! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Monta Ellis can play the PG and he averaged 20 a game, Kelenna Azubuike(<3) can start at SG since he averaged like 9 points in like 12 minutes of play last year, Stephen Jackson averaged 20 a game also, Al Harrington is a good player that probably could give them about 15 a game, and if they resign Andris Biedrins, he probably will average more since he'll get more shots and he lead the league in field goal precentage last year. And Golden State also offered Arenas a six year,101 thousand contract.
Ellis averaged 20 what a game? Assists... I think not!
Carlos Delfino can play some point too, but to the best of my knowledge he wasnt a starting pg on the Pistons or Raptors. Ellis is a 2 guard trapped in a 1 guards body.

As I first reported early this morning via the blog, the Wizards offered Arenas a maximum level contract, one that would pay the three-time all-star around $124 million over six years.
Yeah.

Arenas sort of changes things for G State, except for the fact they will still be horrible on D. Arenas has got to be one of the worst defenders in the history of the game.
