Andrei Arshavin admits Barcelona are his 'dream' club, but he is focused on Russia's Euro 2008 semi-final against Spain.

The playmaker has emerged as a star of the European Championship after sparkling displays in Russia's wins over Sweden and Holland.

He is tipped to leave Uefa Cup winners Zenit St Petersburg at the end of the tournament and has claimed he has received offers from clubs in England and Germany.

Arshavin has also acknowledged a preference to play in Spanish football and he concedes Barcelona are his favourite club.

"I have supported Barcelona all my life," Arshavin told euro2008.com. "Barcelona are my dream.

"I never thought I would have a genuine chance to play for the club. Let's see how the situation unfolds. For now I can't say anything for sure.

"At the moment I'm a player of team Russia and I'm only thinking about doing well in the semi-finals."

The 27-year-old missed the opening two matches of Euro 2008 through suspension and is grateful to coach Guus Hiddink for selecting him in the Russia squad.

heard he wanted to play in la liga, but this is really good to hear as a barca fan. Since deco has left he would fit in nicely playing a similar role to the one deco had. He has some similarities to messi, and i think the two would work together nicely. Would be interesting to see what zenit want for him however.

So you think being a great club is based entirely on where you finished in the league table the year before?

Being a great club is about a lot of things. It is about history, culture, tradition, philosophies, the fans, the way the club is run, fame etc etc. Barcelona are a greater club than Madrid because they play better football and they don't have such ridiculous classless transfer policies such as signing players when they are already the best in the world.

You seriously suggesting that for a while Chelsea were a greater CLUB than Manchester United because they were the Champions?

No apparently you don't, I have no problem with the fact that Liverpool are the 4th best behind Arsenal, Chelsea and you.

For that one or two seasons, Chelsea were the better team, which is why they won the league.
