Sir Alex Ferguson will step straight into transfer talks once he returns from his summer holiday, and the first item on the agenda will be to lure Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United…

The Red Devils have been persistently linked with a move for the Tottenham striker, who has established himself as one of Europe’s most dangerous forwards since switching to White Hart Lane from Bayer Leverkusen in 2006.
Ferguson was initially unwilling to meet Spurs’ price tag, which was nearly triple the ₤10.6million they paid for the Bulgarian international.
But according to The Sun, the United boss is ready to reignite his interest in the former CSKA Sofia hitman by way of an official ₤25million bid.
Sir Alex will not be short on funds this summer after the club earned ₤32million from their victorious Champions League campaign.
And while a large portion of that sum will go towards permanently signing Argentine forward Carlos Tevez, there will be plenty more cash available for the Berbatov deal.
The 27-year-old’s agent Emil Dantchev has already revealed that his client wishes to play in the Champions League, which essentially rules out United’s rival suitors AC Milan, who finished fifth in Serie A last season.

Arguments could be made that we don't need another world class striker, and if we do, a more direct one like Villa would be more appropriate, but I mark for this guy. I would fucking love it if we got him.

Saha will surely be going. What happens if Tevez or Roon get injured? There is noone there to cover besides the highly unproven Manucho.
Of course we need one. The question is, would it be more wise to go for a prospect rather than someone who would demand to be first choice such as Berbo or Villa?
