</TD><TD>Clemens makes Surprise visit
Mar 10 - Roger Clemens spent 90 minutes Wednesday at Rangers camp in Surprise, Ariz., the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Clemens has four teams -- the Astros, Yankees, Red Sox and Rangers -- vying for his services, with the Rangers being the most proactive so far.
"There's a lot of things that will probably factor in [my decision]," Clemens told the newspaper. "I think the main factor is going to be how I feel mentally and physically, and do I want to take that challenge on. Because if I do commit to do it, I'm going to be totally ready for it, and I'm going to be ready to win some ballgames and some big ballgames at that, and I'm going to hold my end of the deal up." Clemens does not expect to make a decision before Opening Day.

Mar 10 - David Bell's bad back may keep utility infielder Tomas Perez in a Phillies uniform a bit longer than expected, the Philadephia Daily News reports.
If Bell is good to go before spring training ends, the Marlins reportedly would be very interested acquiring Perez.
Perez recently told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that he'd welcome a trade to the Marlins. "If I do go to the Marlins I'll try to do what I've done all my career, support my teammates and the young players the best I can," Perez said.

Mar 9 - Tony Graffanino is drawing interest from a handful of teams, making it more likely the Red Sox will deal the veteran infielder before Opening Day, the Providence Journal reports. The Rangers, Mets, Cubs and Marlins reportedly have shown interest. The Orioles might also be interested if Brian Roberts can't play.

Mar 6 - Since Kevin Gregg is out of minor-league options and also has been outrighted in his career, if the Angels don't place him on the major-league roster to start the season, he can become a free agent, the Los Angeles Daily News reports. "It's something I'd have to deal with if it came up but it puts things in my favor a little bit," the right-hander told the newspaper.

Mar 6 - According to the Arizona Republic, being out of options may help Koyie Hill, who is the Diamondbacks' No. 3 catcher. Since the D-Backs aren't likely to carry three catchers, Hill could be playing as much this spring for the 29 other major league teams as he is for his own.
He'll have to clear waivers before going to the minors, and with catchers always in demand, some believe he won't make it through without being claimed. "I think being out of options obviously creates some interest," Hill told the newspaper. "It kind of forces the team's hand, a little bit."
