All this test proves is that Young wasn't at Texas to get a degree, he was there solely as an athlete.
it's not a test of what you learn in class, like the SATs. It's a test that shows how well and how quickly your mind processes information and makes a logical decision using said information. If anything, this test IS an example of how well or how quickly somebody learns

But is any of it football related? That's my point.. Some people just know one certain thing.. I know people who know everything there is to know about cars and how they run, how everything works, etc, etc.. but they can't do other simple things that we could all do. Am I making any sense?

shit...i just typed out a long response, and accidentally deleted it...SHIT!!!!

OK, I'll retype it in abbreviated fashion

The test is not football related.

Being smart is an asset.

Vince Young lacks that asset.

Vince Young has many other assets that may make him a good QB.

Other players in the NFL lack certain assets that may make them successful.

Steve Smith, for example, lacks size

Smith is able to overcome that problem by utilizing his other assets.

However, being small is a disadvantage in the NFL, and scouts need to take that into consideration.

Likewise, being stupid is a disadvantage, and scouts need to take that into consideration.

But, players are able to overcome all types of disadvantages (including lack of size, speed, brains, etc) to become successful NFL players.

What did the longer version look like? lol.. No I understand that the scouts have to take it into account I just don't think this automatically makes Matt the "smartest" pick.. If I were the Saints, I'd still take Young for the reasons I previously mentioned.

Oh, there's one thing I forgot to address about the NO thing...

You make perfect sense, especially with the Vick/Atlanta-Young/N.O. comparison. However, N.O.'s owner is a bastard who doesnt give a shit about the residents of N.O. Especially since he wants to move the team to L.A. I'm sure he has dreams of bringing Leinart back to L.A. if and when the Saints move there

Yeah, that guy is an asshole but I thought I heard Tagliabue speaking one day about how the Saints are staying and we're gonna get the team back on track, etc..

I dunno.. I hope they stay in NO, I don't think the people in LA really care either way. IMO NO needs the team a lot more.

I agree...I think Tags assured that the Saints would play in N.O. in '06, but I'm pretty sure the guy still wants to move the team
