Okay, with the start of the NBA season just around the corner, the first thought to enter my mind is "Big deal". Personally, I find basketball to be a very boring sport to watch. In fact, only the last 5 minutes of the game are what matters, because there is so much scoring throughout the game, making baskets loses its appeal to me. Even the last 5 minutes takes a half hour of real-time because of all the out-of-bounds and timeouts that occur.
So with that, let's think up some ideas on how to make the sport more exciting to watch.
1. Full contact. Come on, I want to see an elbow to the throat of Lebron.
2. Make another basket above the regular one. Making a basket in there is 10 points..no..make it 50.
3. On the same token, make shots behind the half-court mark 4 or 5 points. Honestly, why is that only 3?
4. Stepping out of bounds during the last 3 minutes keeps the clock running, but you still lose possession.
I think basketball is exciting. I'm not really sure why everyone is turned off to it now that Jordan is gone because honestly.. I think there's more pure talent in the league than there has ever been.
I'll admit, the team game was thrown out the window for a few years, but I think it's back now.. Guys like LeBron James, Rose, Oden, Wade, etc.. they aren't selfish players.. and like last year.. The Celtics were a great team..
There'll be no sorrow there, no more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no more pain, no more parting over there;
And forever I will be with the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
Best thing they could do would be to make the court bigger. With the size of today's players, the court is just way too cramped and it stifles the offenses
However, to do that they would have to wipe out the first few rows of seats, which are the most expensive. Each team would lose thousands and thousands of dollars (maybe even millions, for teams like the Knicks and Lakers that can charge an assload for tickets) each year if they eliminated those seats
I've also always been a fan of shots behind the halfcourt line being worth 4 points, at least at the end of the game. Down by 4 with 1 second left? Just chuck up a 60-foot prayer and hope it goes in

Now think up some other ideas.
You would probably really like Slamball. It has virtually all of those rules already.
Too bad it's not on TV anymore.
I say they should get rid of all the bullshit new regulations and fines. If Ron Artest does so much as raise an eyebrow at a referee, he gets a technical and a $25,000 fine. It's like they expect the players to be robots or something. Even the slightest showing of emotion or personality is frowned upon. I know that has made the game a lot more boring to me. I think you should be allowed to taunt and talk shit.
