Tom Coughlin’s and the Giants’ worst fears were realized today when they learned that defensive end Osi Umenyiora – the team’s four-time sack leader and lone Pro Bowler from the 2007 Super Bowl champions – will miss the entire 2008 season with a left knee injury suffered in last night’s preseason loss to the Jets.
I don't know how good the giants can be w/o him and Strahan, I know the Giants are trying to get strahan out of retirement but I dont see that happening.
So Tom, you and the rest of NY freaking out? This doesn't mean the season is over for you guys, but still cant put a good feeling in your stomach.

I love Justin Tuck, and they're planning on moving Matthias Kiwanuka back to his natural DE position, but that will severely hurt our already weak LB corps.
All I can say is...this really sucks

Even as a fan of an NFC rival team, I think this sucks. I hate seeing guys go down in the preseason, unconditionally of who they play for. And I was especially interested in watching the Giants defense, led by Umenyiora, again this year.
Michael Strahan is staying retired, although his agent said that the seven-time Pro Bowler seriously considered returning to the Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
"He was very close to returning, but the great part about Michael is that he takes his time to think about things and he is very thorough," Tony Agnone said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press on Tuesday night. "You can get excited about coming back and running through the tunnel one more time."
