With Manny's latest newsworthy moment, Boston.com did a list of some of Manny's most memorable moments. Some good, some not so good.
It drives the media and most likely the team crazy that fans in Boston absolutely LOVE him and he really can do no harm. Just when people may start to get on his lack of hustle he will blast out 4 homers in a week and get some crazy outfield assist to get a guy out at third. He also does it with a smile on his face most of the time.
Some of the things that make him truely unique are what make him so loved in the city as well. Almost every homegame he will start up full on conversations with fans in the left field seats. He will use the Green Monster to get out of the sun in between pitching changes and for bathroom breaks. There are so many funny quirky things that he does its impossible to count them.

Some would play Devils advocate and say the reason he has been so productive over the years is by doing it his way.
Perhaps a player like Ripken would have been better off taking days off here and there.

I agree with both of you. I'm not sure there's a right answer to that.. I guess the only one who knows is Manny. I love Manny, though. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want this guy on their team.
