Re: Mock Drafts

Yeah, I don't know much about McKelvin,.. but Rodgers-Cromartie.. from highlights and seeing him at a couple of those all-star games, combined with his blood.. he seems like a can't miss.

Re: Mock Drafts

I'd also like to take a moment to publicly apologize to TOL, and to retract my statements about Brandon Flowers. After watching more video of the guy and seeing a couple interviews, I definitely wouldn't mind hearing his name called at #30. His height is still a question mark, but I think he might actually be the best bump and run corner in the draft. He reminds me some of Antoine Winfield.

Re: Mock Drafts

1. Miami Dolphins - Jake Long, OT, Michigan - Easy selection as it's already been made.

2. St. Louis Rams - Chris Long, DE, Virginia - They just need to get better period. Long is the best player available and they'll take him.

3. Atlanta Falcons - Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU - Whereas they may take Ryan I think they'll be happier picking up a 2nd Round QB instead of spending the money on Ryan

4. Oakland Raiders - Darren McFadden, HB, Arkansas - Is it who they should take? No. But reports say that Al Davis loves him and I think this is where he will go.

5. New Orleans Saints(from KC) - Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC - After Johnathan Sullivan failed they've been needing a huge DT to help their D. If Ellis is as good as billed he'll make the other 10 guys on the field better.

6. New York Jets - Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio State - Ideally Darren McFadden would fall here or they would trade up. Either way I don't see either scenario working out. Gholston will terrorize QBs in New York now.

7. New England Patriots - Keith Rivers, OLB, USC - Makes great plays all over the field and is the intelligent linebacker that Belicheck loves.

8. Baltimore Ravens - Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College - With the prompt retirement of Steve McNair the Ravens are left without a QB. Ryan fits the bill and is their selection.

9. Cincinnati Bengals - Kentwan Balmer, DT, UNC - A shady pick at best but Cincinnati desperately needs to get better on the line. With that being said and no one biting on the nine pick the Bengals decide on Balmer.

10. Kansas City Chiefs(from NO) - Brandon Albert, G/T, Virginia - They need to improve their offensive line Albert is athletic enough to fill in at any of the positions and is a great pick here.

11. Philadelphia Eagles(from BUF) - Devin Thomas, WR, Michigan State - Trade here is Lito Sheppard and the Eagles 1st round for the Bills first round and perhaps a later pick. Thomas is probably the best WR in this draft and will fit in nicely.

12. Denver Broncos - Jerod Mayo, ILB, Tennessee - Denvers biggest issue is moving DJ back to the outside. Mayo is the best true ILB in this draft. Connor is good but is more of an Outside Linebacker.

13. Carolina Panthers - Ryan Clady, OT, Boise State - With the recent shifting of the offensive line it opens up a Tackle spot that Clady could fill right away.

14. Chicago Bears - Rashard Mendenhall, HB, Illinois - Knows Ron Turners system and is already in the state. Benson didn't do much last year and the Bears aren't that far away from even a playoff berth.

15. Detroit Lions - Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy - With many needs the Lions fill a CB need with Leodis now that Mendenhall is off the board. Could also pick Stewart but I don't see them taking him.

16. Arizona Cardinals - Aquib Talib, CB, Kansas - With Antrel Rolle being moved to safety they need someone to fill in the gap at CB. Talib is a physical corner and the Cards D likes to play Press. Stewart is also a possibility here.

17. Kansas City Chiefs(from MIN) - Derrick Harvey, DE, - After the trade of Allen they have an opening at DE. I could also see them taking a corner here but with both Phillip Merling and Derrick Harvey still on the board it's hard to pass up. Harvey has good burst and great athleticism. If the Bills don't trade their pick he may go as high as 11.

18. Houston Texans - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
, CB, TSU - DRC is a good playmaker at corner and fits the bill in Houston. Should help solidify the improving Texans Defense and give them better coverage on all of Jacksonvilles recievers

19. Buffalo Bills(from PHI) - James Hardy, WR, Indiana - After filling their need at CB with Lito Sheppard the Bills settle on a WR here. Hardy/Sweed/Jackson could go here I chose Hardy to compliment Lee Evans.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida - Another kid who's staying home. Bucs need to solidify their mediocre secondary and get a kid who could improve their defense. Jenkins is a good cornera and is too good to pass up here for a WR.

21. Jacksonville Jaguars(from WAS) - Phillip Merling, DE, Clemson - After turning down an offer for Jason Taylor the Jaguars move up in the draft to take the second best Pass Rush End in Merling. They could stay pat and take Calais Campbell but I think Merling is too good for them to miss on.

22. Dallas Cowboys - Felix Jones, HB, Arkansas - Complimentary to Marion Barber Jerry Jones picks the other HB from Arkansas. Jones is quick and agile but unproven. Can also return kicks and punts.

23. Pittsburgh Steelers - Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh - After giving up 47 sacks and with Smith having chronic back pains AND Faneca leaving the Steelers need to add a few linemen. Otah is a great pick and good value at 23.

24. Tennessee Titans - Limas Sweed, WR, Texas - Almost too good to be true Sweed who caught a few balls from Young in college will now move to Tennessee to catch balls from him. Sweed is by far my favorite wideout in the draft and I think he'll fit in perfectly. Jackson is another options

25. Seattle Seahawks - Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbilt - Now that they've learned the importance of having a good offensive line they add Williams. Another good Tackle and great value at 25. A reach but Fred Davis could go here as well

26. Washington Redskins(From JAX) - Kenny Phillips, S, Miami(FL) - Almost assured that Phillips would fall this far they bite on Jacksonvilles trade and pick up more picks along the way and get the guy the want. They could also go OT or DE here with Gosder and Campbell still on the board.

27. San Diego Chargers - Jonathan Stewart, HB, Oregon - After losing Michael Turner to Free Agency the Chargers pick up another fast backup for LT in Stewart. Anyone else notice he ran a 4.5 with a Bum Toe.

28. Dallas Cowboys - Desean Jackson, WR, California - Pick up a speedster replacement to compliment Terrell Owens. Another upside guy Jackson has a high ceiling but it's also a long way to the floor. Another guy who also immediately improves the Return game for Dallas.

29. San Fransisco 49ers - Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College - This is San Fransisco's dream. They get to move Joe Staley over to LT and have bookend Tackles for years to come. They should be able to address later WR needs in the later rounds.

30. Atlanta Falcons(From GB) - Joe Flacco, QB, Delaware - They don't have many needs so I hardly think that GB will stay put. As far as Atlanta goes they either take Flacco or Brohm. I like Flacco more than Brohm due to Flacco's mobility but insert either here.

31. LOL CHEATERS

32. New York Giants - Fred Davis
, TE, USC - With the trade talks circulating around Shockey I wouldn't be surprised if Davis gets selected here. I could also see Dan Connor or Antoine Cason taken here.

Re: Mock Drafts

Lemons Mock Draft v.1.0

#1) Miami Dolphins
OT Jake Long, Michigan

Not my favorite pick just because I don't believe he'll be a person I'd trust with my QBs blind side, but his run blocking his top notch.

#2) St.Louis Rams
DT Glenn Dorsey, LSU

Moving Adam Carriker back to DE and adding Dorsey in the middle should do wonders for there Oline. Also look for St.Louis to trade down with the Saints who are in love with Dorsey.

#3) Atlanta Falcons
QB Matt Ryan, Boston College

I'm not at all thrilled with Matt Ryan being pegged as a top 10 pick, let alone a top 3 pick. But with Dorsey and Long both gone, QB is without a doubt Atlantas biggest need.

#4) Oakland Raiders
DE Chris Long, Virgina

Typical Al move, son of one his greatest players comes along and he believes it'll restore all greatness to the franchise. He just lacks a John Madden JR to go with him.

#5) Kansas City Chiefs
DE Vernon Gholston, Ohio State

Well, Jared Allens gone.

#6) New York Jets
RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas

The Jets have been having McFadden in town so many times, its hard to see them go otherwise.

#7) New England Patriots (From San Franciso)
CB Leodis McKelvin, Troy

Leodis is the most NFL Ready corner in the draft who gets the luxery of playing on a superbowl contender. Only problem is he'll be next to Rodney Harrison >.>

#8) Baltimore Ravens
CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, TSU

I really, really like Rodgers fit in the Ravens secondary, Rolle and McAllister both have a couple years left on them and Cory Ivy is a decent Nickelback for this year. Rodgers gets to learn the system and contribute in big ways, barring injurys to starters or him.

#9) Cincinati Bengals
DT Seddrick Ellis, USC

I had Keith Rivers going here before, but Ellis is to good to pass up on a terrible Dline like Cincis.

#10) New Orleans Saints
OLB Keith Rivers, USC

Keith tore the roof of his pro day and even though the Saints still need a CB, Keith is far to good to pass up.

#11) Buffalo Bills
CB Mike Jenkins, USF

I'm sorry but when your in the same Divsion as Randy Moss, you need CBs. Jenkins and McGee should be a formatable dou in the secondary with Youboty in the nickle.

#12) Denver Broncos
OT Ryan Clady, Boise State

Jay Cutler Fumbles alot, maybe he should stop that?

#13) Carolina Panthers
OT Jeff Otah, Pittsburgh

I tell you what, I didn't think Otah would go this high but reports are that alot of teams in the top 15 love the guy. I can't say I disagree with there love affair, Otah will be a franchise LT in the NFL next season.

#14) Chicago Bears
OG Brandon Albert, Virgina

I absolutly LOVE Brandon Albert, with all the needs the Bears have it all starts with there offensive line which isn't exactly a fountain of youth. Fix the line, fix the quaterback, fix the line fix the running back. Okay maybe the last one was a stretch.

#15) Detriot Lions
DE Derrick Harvey, Florida

The Lions have so many needs its not even funny, Linebacks, DLine, Runningbacks. with Harvey being added to the line it fills some of the void that Shaun Rodgers leaves, but not all of it.

#16) Arizona Cardinals
RB Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois

I think its a pretty obvious pick to be honest, if Mendenhall is hanging around theres no way they wont take him. Edge has fallen off considerably and Mendenhal should prove to be a hit amoung Arizona Fans lining up with Leinart in the backfield.

#17) Kansas City Chiefs (from Minnesota)
OT Chris Williams, Vanderbuilt

Games are won and lost on the line, they got Gholston now they improve there offensive line.

#18) Houston Texans
CB Aqib Talib, Kansas

Still not sold on Aqib in the NFL but its such a big need for the Texans that Im not sure they can pass it up, even with Stewart on the board at running back. GIVE THE BALL TO DARIUS WALKER!!

#19) Philadelphia Eagles
WR Devin Thomas, Michigan State

With most of the Oline projects of round one off the board, I think Andy shakes Freddy Mitchell from his Memory for long enough to draft Devin Thomas. They need any sort of WR they can get for McNabb, personally Devin reminds me of Donte Stallworth when he playing good, his YAC potential is amazing.

#20) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
WR Desean Jackson

I really want to say Brohm goes here but I find it hard to believe that a team with 5 quaterbacks, including the rights to semi retiree Jake Plummer will spend a first round pick on a quaterback. DeSean Jackson on the other hand certainly gives Tampa bay something to think about at WR, Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard won't make plays forever and Jackson this year should give Stovall and Clayton a run for there money in the slot because of his speed and hands alone. And as Charles davis would say he returns kicks for added value

#21) Washington Redskins
DE Philip Merling, Clemson

I had Kenny Philips here before and the more I think about it, the more I think the Redskins will pass till there on a less freaky number.

#22) Dallas Cowboys (From Cleveland)
CB Antonie Cason, Arizona

A much needed boost of fresh blood in there secondary at corner.

#23) Pittsburgh Steelers
OT Gosder Cherilus, Boston college

Gosder doesn't appeal to me as a prospect at all but at this point hes the best offensive linemen on the board and in wake of Faneca going to New York thats there biggest need.

#24) Tennessee Titans
WR Limas Sweed, Texas

Well, Malcom Kelly sure hasn't helped him self running all those 4.67's lately, hes probably helped Limas more then anybody. Limas also fills the void to end all at WR in Tennesse.

#25) Seattle Seahawks
RB Jonathan Stewart, Oregon

Alexander the Great is gone in Washington and Julio Junes and T.J Duckett just don't cut it. Jonathan should be a amazing compliment to the new wide open passing attack of Seattle with his power running.

#26) Jacksonville Jaguars
DT Kentwan Balmer, North Carolina

Balmers just the best DT on the board and they need one now that Stroud is in Buffalo.

#27) San Diego Chargers
DE/OLB Quentin Groves, Auburn

I don't know what the Chargers will do, nor will I pretend but with every tackle off the board, most of the first round grade CBs of the board. Groves fills depth at DE behinde Luis and Igor with a year to bulk up to a round 280, he'll be a solid rotational piece in the Dline.

#28) Dallas Cowboys
S Kenny Philips, Miami

Rumor has it that Roy Williams is going to see a reduced role in 2008/2009 by being taken off the field in obvious passing downs. Kenny Philips has the ablity to play both safety postions and should provide a force in the secodary for a long time.

#29) San Franciso 49ers
WR Early Doucett, LSU

When Arnaz Battle is your best reciever with only 600 yards on the season, you've got problems. Bryant Johnson and Issac Bruce both help the cause but Early Doucett really finallizes the need at WR.

#30) Green Bay Packers
CB Brandon Flowers, Virgina Tech

I'd love to see Brohm go here, but the Packers need a corner amoung other things.

#31) New York Giants
ILB Dan Conner, Penn State

Everybody has Dan Conner falling in to round two but really, can the giants afford to pass him up?

I found a poor man once

He spoke about the government

Re: Mock Drafts

Revising this after reports came out.

4. Oakland Raiders - Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio State - New reports indicate that the Raiders front office is now looking at Gholston.

5. New Orleans Saints(from KC) - Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC - After Johnathan Sullivan failed they've been needing a huge DT to help their D. If Ellis is as good as billed he'll make the other 10 guys on the field better.

6. New York Jets - Darren McFadden, HB, Arkansas - Jets pick up a playmaker at HB and they need him. Thomas Jones hasn't worked out in the one year and maybe teaming with another HB Threat will make both Jones and McFadden more effective.

9. Cincinnati Bengals - Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida - Depending on what Marvin Lewis decides is his bigger need the pick will either be Balmer or Harvey. The Bengals would love nothing more than to trade out of this spot and I wouldn't be surprised to see them pick up Jason Taylor in a trade.

10. Kansas City Chiefs(from NO) - Brandon Albert, G/T, Virginia - They need to improve their offensive line Albert is athletic enough to fill in at any of the positions and is a great pick here.

18. Houston Texans - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

22. Dallas Cowboys - Felix Jones, HB, Arkansas - Complimentary to Marion Barber Jerry Jones picks the other HB from Arkansas. Jones is quick and agile but unproven. Can also return kicks and punts.

26. Jacksonville Jaguars - Kentwan Balmer, DT, UNC - After losing Marcus Stroud the Jaguars pick up his replacement in Kentwan Balmer. This all depends on the upper tier of the draft
