The Bruins were actually pretty abysmal during the 1999-2000 season when Bourque was traded.

Definitely.

If I remember correctly, Bourque finally got fed up and asked for a trade when it became clear the Bruins weren't close to winning anything. He won a Cup with the Avs the next year (his final season) and then brought it back to Boston in a huge emotional ceremony.

Of course none of this is me supporting Bruins brass... just clarifying.

Bourque was traded and I believe the lost in the conference finals to the Stars. (could be wrong about the round), then they won it the next year.

Leave it to a Canadian to correct my :joint:'d mind about Bourque's history. lol

I'm extremely pleased with my Penguins so far and how couldn't I be? Erased a 3-0 deficit in game 1 to win 5-4 and then took game two from the Rangers earlier today. I'm very stoked.
