They were up by 5 yes, but the statistics in both points in the paint and rebounding were so one-sided in KU's favor that it was a miracle the game was that close..

Re: fouling to win the game

[quote=Blitzkrieg;687222]Chops, if a player in football commits a penalty at the end of the game.. there's still no way they are getting the ball back, so I don't see what point you're trying to make. Basketball cannot be changed.. they have to go possession by possession, changing the format in the final two minutes wouldn't work at all..

I don't think the format should be changed for the last two minutes, I think the team that was fouled should have the option of foul shots or inbounding the ball the entire game. The point with my football analogy is that a team can refuse a penalty if they want to, a basketball team could decide to inbound the ball or shoot freethrows. I think your hard on for Kansas is bringing you off of the discussion of wheather fouling in order to have a chance to win is fundementally wrong or the proper way to end the game.

Again, if anything, this would make the ends of basketball games even more drawn-out and boring. You don't want to give the losing coach repeated opportunities at intercepting an inbounds pass, because that coach would take that opportunity over and over and over again.

Re: fouling to win the game

Exactly.. plus, why would a team choose that option anyway? It's harder for most teams to in-bound the ball than it is to make a free throw. You don't understand how tough it is to in-bound the ball sometimes.. there's a ton of shit that can go wrong..
