With the recent events surrounding the Seattle SuperSonics, and the general not caringness of the rest of the nation, I just want to hear everyones thoughts on this. What if, Clay Bennett came to your city, bought your team and said we're staying here, only to demand financing for a new stadium/arena. When he doesn't get it, he decides to move your team. I mean how would you feel? It's basically what happened to these guys in Seattle. And it's a travesty that Stern has done nothing about the owner, and blamed the city.

Its horrible whats happening with the Sonics, I really wish there was a way to keep them there and that Sterns could just do something like move the Hornets to OK and have the Sonics stay. But if I'm buying the Sonics and they wont give me a new stadium or anything for that matter, I'm moving to if my fan base isn't great and the team is as bad as the Sonics are.

The fan base is there. The city just doesn't have the money to finance a brand new arena for them. If you want a team without a fanbase try Memphis >.>

Memphis should have never gotten a team to begin with, Vancouver is begging for a team and was basicly set up to fail by the NBA. Imagine if they gave the Grizzlies a top five pick insted of installing a Penny/Shaq rule handicaping them to Bryant Reeves. They wouldn't have been so terrible with Garnet, Rasheed Wallace, Jerry Stackhouse or Joe Smith on there team.
I never understood moving a losing team with bad fan support anyways outside of money issues, They were losing in one place, there not magicly gettting better anywhere else.

It really is a shame. The whole situation is so fucked up. I was reading the e-mails that Bill Simmons posted from Sonics fans and it really hit home...these people really care about the Sonics, and it's terrible that Clay Bennett wants to take their team from them.
