All year Packers fans have been waffling about what to do with DT Corey Williams, who was going to command way more on the open market than he's worth to the Packers -- a team where he could easily have been just the 4th-best tackle next year behind Ryan Pickett, Johnny Jolly and Justin Harrell -- so what does Thompson do? He franchise tags him for a week and then trades Williams to Cleveland for a 2nd-rounder.

Kris Jenkins to New York really perked up my ears a bit, Its almost a gamble for them he'll either be a waste of 20 Mill and draft picks or hell fix all there problems on the line.
Corey Williams in Cleveland is interesting to, considering all the other talent rumored to be checking out the Browns on the defensive side of the ball.

Did anyone see the news story that the Green Bay Packers website briefly put up an announcement of Bret Favre's retirement and then quiclky removed it?
Interesting.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Jaguars agreed to terms with Jerry Porter on a six-year, $30 million contract, with $10 million guaranteed.
Looks like the Jags have really been working on there Recieving core, and they signed Cleo Lemons

It scared me for a moment, but they were just designing a page to be ready for when he does make his announcement. They've got one in case he returns as well. There's nothing to it.

Re: NFL Offseason Thread 2008 (for the little things)
I'm glad the Lions got rid of that fat tub of lazy lard. He was a cancer in the lockerroom anyway. But I'm sure the Lions will botch the two draft picks as per usual.
Re: NFL Offseason Thread 2008 (for the little things)
Correction on SS's post, Rodgers is going to Cleveland for Leigh Boden + 5th round pick (I think) which is even better for the Lions since they get a starting Corner with potential and the Browns get even better on the defensive line. Hey the Lions might acutally be worth the 4 hour drive to see one of there games if MM doesn't fuck up there picks and gets a decent running back this year.
Going to Cinci got botched because Cinci didn't have the cap space or something
