That is one hell of a starting 5 that would include Dirk, Terry, Kidd, and Howard. Very impressive. They had to do this with Phoenix acquiring Shaq and the Lakers acquiring Gasol. Those Western Conference playoffs are going to be Armageddon.

Someone was just telling me about this. They're giving up a ton, but no one really that has potential to be a superstar. Most of them are role players at best.

With the New Jersey Nets poised to complete a blockbuster deal to send Jason Kidd back to Dallas on Wednesday night, Mavericks reserve forward Devean George has unexpectedly exercised his right to block the trade, according to NBA front-office sources. Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com that the teams verbally agreed to the deal earlier Wednesday and were preparing to submit the trade for league approval when George informed the Mavericks that he wouldn't consent to being included in the deal, which is his right based on a rare provision in his one-year contract.

What fool gave Devin George, a man who averages under six points a game and is on a one year contract, a not trade clause! The Mavs GM is simply put...stupid!

Its not a no trade claus, its something in the CBA about vetern players on one year contracts from what I hear.

Actually, he utilized a provision under the current CBA which says that any player who was signed to a one-year contract, with early-bird free agency rights has the right to veto a trade. He's one of 16 current players who are able to utilize this provision. The most famous case of someone doing this is when Matt Geiger blocked the trade in the 2000-2001 season that would've sent Allen Iverson to the Pistons.
