New York Giants Fans should say I'm sorry

....

....

To Eli Manning.

I have gone to two Giants games over the past couple years and listen to WFAN as well as reading alot of papers and such from that area. My wifes best friend is also living in that area so we get a good sense of what's going on.

Soooooooooooooooooo many times I heard them sell poor Eli down the river. It was to the point where you wanted to scream in the parking lot "Have a little freaking faith in your players man!!!" It was very annoying and frustrating to listen to.

I always stood by the fact that Eli had eerily similar numbers to Peyton in his first 3 years. Granted the Giants were a little better when Eli was drafted then the Colts were, but they weren't exactly a dynasty waiting for a QB.

Now I wonder how the tide has turned in Eli and Tom Coughlin's eyes. I bet everyone loves Eli now. lol

Trust me Simon, After watching Eli as a starter for 3 full years and now finally get a Super Bowl ring is one hell of a achievement. The expectations were set to high and Eli Manning was able to start to turn it around and an important thing is that he didn't really even turn the ball over in the last 5 games or so. Manning made key throws and really deserved that MVP award especially after engineering that 2-3 last minute drive down which he does best and lead the Giants to a victory over the Undefeated New England Patriots. Eli had ice water in the veigns and really did a superb job of managing the game for the Giants all post season and sure, he's had his ups and downs but Eli with each stepping stone being passed, Eli just keeps getting better and better. Tough Love Pays off.

Re: New York Giants Fans should say I'm sorry

Eli has been treated very very unfairly during his time in NY. I was one of the few who asked people to be patient, but all I heard was "He's always gonna suck! Look, Roethlisberger won it all in his second year! Tom Brady won it the first year he was a starter! If Eli hasnt won it yet, he NEVER will!"

Not every body can come in right away and be great. Sometimes, it takes time (like it did with Drew Brees)
. And it looks like Eli finally started putting it all together

Re: New York Giants Fans should say I'm sorry

I think the Giants' fans had good reason to be concerned. Even though the Colts sucked for a year or two, Peyton showed signs of being great.. The inconcistancies in Eli's game was a hard sell. There were times he's looked brutal. now obviously, he's put on some weight, added strength, gotten rid of players who made it hard on him, and he's back to playing football again.. But these concerned giants' fans still had good reason for a couple years to be worried.

When this playoff run started and even when there was 2 minutes left in the Super Bowl, I said to my buddies "watch now. Eli isn't going to have to think. He can just play football.. he's at his best in the two minute offense" and he pulled it out once again.

Haters be gone forever.

I don't like Eli, and probably never will but right now I'll say that hes got my repsect as far as being a QB at the pro level goes. I think it'll be interesting to see how people rank the 2004 QBs in ten years for sure though, Eli has a ring and been to the playoffs before, Ben has a ring, Philip Rivers has lead his team to the AFC Championship Game and is turning out to be the leader of the Chargers, not LT. All 3 of them have a chance to be top 5 Qbs down the line to me.

But for now, Sorry Eli >.>

I found a poor man once
He was the age of fifty-three
He spoke about the government
And the thought of being free
What good does us reason if we fail to see?
What good does us freedom if we fail to be free

Respect him. Still not sold on him. But it takes me quite a bit to be sold on a guy.

The road I walk is paved in gold
To glorify my platinum soul
I am the closest thing to God
So worship me and never stop.
The selfish blood runs through my veins
I gave up everything for fame
I am the life that you adore
I feed the rich and fuck the poor.
This is entertainment
Lives are entertainment
You are down on your knees
Begging me for more.

My point is exactlly what Tom brought up though. The negativity was ridiculous.
