Here's a man who won a playoff game in Green Bay and it wasn't even close.

However, I'm down on Young right now as well lol.
Well lets be honest, Mike Vick was a freak of nature with his speed (rumor was he ran a 4.2 40) and had an arm the size of texas to bomb it down field with. I don't think the Tavaris/Campbell/Youngs of this leauge really are anything close to what Vick was with the Falcons. I don't agree with anything Vicks done in the last year but he was a QB in the right scheme that was designed for him. Young however isn't and Im not sure he ever will be... unless the Titans want to go away from being a running team.

Re: Evaluate these 'Breakout' QBs

Rivers is definitely the biggest douchebag of the three, Eli is the goofiest of the three, and Garrard is probably the one who is most often mistaken for being a "running QB"

You do realize out of all those QB's Lemonz, that Cutler is widely considered a "running" QB also, look at him at Vanderbilt

And conversely, Jason Campbell isn't really a "running QB" at all.

He's just black.

Re: Evaluate these 'Breakout' QBs

That was my point about Garrard...people assume that just because he's a black QB, he must run a lot. Then again, he does averrage 4.1 rushing attempts per game for his career, which is about halfway between Tom Brady (2.5 attempts per game) and Vince Young (5.9 attempts per game).

So, maybe he is a running QB after all.

Oh, btw, Jason Campbell, 3.0 attempts per game

I don't really think of Cutler as a running QB in the NFL, if anything I'd liken him to someone like David Garrard. Someone who plays the QB postion in side the pocket but can scramble for big gains when everything is shut down downfield. I think he gets the fact that being a running QB in the College Ranks doesn't mean you can do the same in the NFL which I can respect. Being fast doesn't limit you to just being a guy like Vick or a lesser extent like Young.

Lets not forget that Brady Quinn clocked a fairly decent 40 time (Same as Troy Smiths), You'll be hard pressed to see him run down field before throwing it. Same with Tony Romo...though I'm not sure thats a good thing in his case

Re: Evaluate these 'Breakout' QBs

Forty Times are also highly overrated tbh. Jerry Rice ran a 4.7 or something like that, yet, for some odd reason, every tape I see of him hes outrunning everyone down the field. Also look at USC, John David Booty runs a faster 40 but Mark Sanchez is 10x quicker on his feet than Booty.

Maybe so but it was worth it for a Brady Quinn name drop

It's a little different to run with a football in full pads than run down a track in shorts.
