I don't know what your thinking about because Owens is never really injured outside of these two injuries discussed in this thread.

Not seriously injured, no, but it seems like his name hits the injury report a few times a year, groin pulls and such. Or maybe I'm wrong.

It's possible that I either read the quote wrong or ESPN presented it in a way which lead me to believe Burress was talking out of his ass. I never actually saw the interview just the quotes.

The "Don't play" was the only part of his quote directly addressing Owens, which, like Tom said, was his advice (in jest) for TO. The rest of his quote is him speaking for his football team.
