Charlie Weis: Was given a 10-year extension halfway through his first year (at which point Willingham was still undefeated), and now leads a 1-10 team...the worst in Notre Dame history, and the first to lose to Navy in 43 years
Tyrone Willingham: Recruited Brady Quinn, Jeff Samardjia and Tom Zbikowski
Charlie Weis: Had two great years with Willingham's recruits, then went 1-10 with his recruits
Tyrone Willingham: Recruited players who performed well in their classes and were model citizens who made Notre Dame proud

It is fucking amazing how poorly Weis and Notre Dame have recruited and coached their players. He's a great play caller, I'll give him that.. but this is out of hand this season. Losing to Navy and Air Force? Any other coach would have been fired on the spot.
Actually Slim, it was believed that race was the driving factor in his tumultuous tenure at ND. Willingham was never accepted by the ND faithful. I see no reason why he wouldn't be, he did everything right, I don't know what they wanted out of him.

Slim...Willingham is the ONLY Notre Dame coach ever fired before his first contract expired. For the record, ND has been playing football since 1887. That's 121 years, although to be fair, the early coaches didnt realy have "contracts" per se, and there were a few "interim" coaches mixed in
Willingham went 8-0 to start his ND career, yet he didnt receive a 10-year extension. But for some reason Charlie Weis did...

Now why are you guys ripping Jimmy Clausen? I mean yeah they suck this year but thats Willinghams fault not Charlie Wies' fault. Give them two years and they'll be in a bowl game with Jimmy Clausen as there QB.
