a 35 year old with bad knees is in the prime of his career? Am I missing something...

his career has been hall of fame worthy obviously, but I mean come on I wouldn't say he's in the prime. I'd say it's going to go down hill from here on out...

and before someone snaps obviously i know the stats, and that he's still putting up great numbers, but this year he's been injured, and not the hall of fame harrison. Thats all I'm saying. He clearly can have several hall of fame seasons again no question, but on this day I think the game would have ended in a similar fashion.

BRAVO and exactly how I feel on this one.
Is Harrison a great all time player - YES. Has he had an off year due to his injuries - YES. Has his replacement been playing REALLY well - YES. So BACK TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION of "Colts only lost because Marvin Harrison didn't play" and I say NO to that. THEY WERE WINNING. They should have won. they were up by 10 in the 4th. THEIR DEFENSE could not stop Brady and the Pats.
** Last I checked Harrison, even 100% healthy, DOES NOT PLAY DEFENSE....

I will be 1 on December 25th. That's right, I am going to get screwed on presents!!!!!

Re: Colts only lost because Marvin Harrison didn't play

SS. The better team DID play through the adversity.

Are we going to have another 10 pages about Harrison and if he would have made a difference of not? Because that would be the worst 10 pages in the history of this fine forum.

Let's talk about how the Patriots overcame the worst officiating I have seen since Vinny Testaverde came up 4 yards short against Seattle with the Jets a few years ago and they gave him the touchdown.

Watch the game again and tell me someone in the ref crew wasnt paid off.

( I know that wasnt the case but I wanted to see SS and Lemons blow their fucking tops off reading that)

I finally played live and it was fantastic.

Re: Colts only lost because Marvin Harrison didn't play

funny.
but I will say it again. the colts were leading in the 4th and their defense could not hold or stop anything. Harrison does not play Defense. that simple.

Re: Colts only lost because Marvin Harrison didn't play

Let's call this game what is was: a fun and exciting back-and-forth game to watch. The officiating wasn't the greatest, we can all agree on that. But when is officiating perfect? Hardly ever. I'm sick of the Colts/Pats debate, so I'm staying neutral here.

The Patriots won the game, and will probabaly meet the Colts again in the playoffs. My guess is if they meet, it will be in Gillette Stadium, so it will be the Colts turn to even the score.

So in conclusion, nothing of relevant importance of me, because I am sick of the Pats debate. And if one more person brings up the camera/cheating thing, I'm going to come to their house and stab them in the damn leg.

The Pats would have won the AFC Championship last year if they had Rodney Harrison, Richard Seymour and their linebackers. Oh yeah, half the team had the flu as well. But they didnt have those players and they were sick and thats how it went down.

Thats loser mentality to always assume they shoulda coulda woulda. Suck it up and take your hits when they come.
Thats why I <3 Simon.

Throughout the message boards. I don't know, but the best team could play through such adversity. Besides, from what I've heard, the more obstacles, the merrier for the Pats. Also, considering it's near impossible to compare other eras to this one, it's sincerely hard to call the Pats the best team ever. Best team of this era? Yes, most likely, however, best team ever, is completely and utterly debateable
I mean, I wouldnt go so far as to say that the officials are against us, but come the fuck on, alot of those penalties were weak.

And im not saying the Pats will go undefeated, but if we do, there the best team ever. Hands down.

I really cant remember Harrison ever having a huge game against us. Wayne scares me a helluvalot more than Harrison at this point.

Other thoughts from CMD on the game, is that I believed Addai to be highly overrated untill yesterday. He is def a top 5 RB in the NFL. And it makes me happy to see the Pats still have the ability to come back and win. I was afraid that this team wouldnt be able to man up and handle soemthing like that, considering we manhandled every other team weve played.

You can just imagine how much hype is going to go into the AFC Championship game in NE this January.

Re: Colts only lost because Marvin Harrison didn't play

I think there are two valuable things we learned in this game:

1. The Colts and Patriots are SO much better than everyone else (Hmmm...I have an idea for a new thread...)

2. The Patriots are better than the Colts, but it's close

By the way, TVDinner, we understand that Harrison doesnt play defense, but if Harrison had played well and helped the team get into end zone one or two more times, than wouldnt that have the same effect as the defense stopping the Patriots one or two more times? Let's say one of those FGs that the Colts attempted earlier in the game turned into a TD...then it's 24-24 and probably going to OT. And who knows what the fuck happens then. Maybe the Patriots still win, but you never know. So, Harrison couldn't go out there and play defense and stop the Colts, but he could have helped the Colts offense score more points, which would have accomplished the same purpose.

Also, if you think the Anthony Gonzalez/Aaron Morehead (More head, heh heh...) duo was "playing REALLY well", then you're smoking some REALLY good shit

This will be my only comment.

Bravo to the Pats for a big win.

The better team won yesterday, we'll see if it continues in the playoffs.
