Football Cowboys QB Romo Agrees To Big Extension

Quote:
The wave of success that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is enjoying has finally been rewarded. According to SportsTicker, Romo and the team have agreed in principle to a six-year extension, worth $67.5 million, which was originally reported by the Dallas Morning News today. Citing 2 sources familiar with the negotiations, the deal includes $30 million in guaranteed money. The deal was close to being announced on the Cowboys’ team website.

Originally an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Illinois, Romo had originally signed a 1-year, $3.9 million extension back in August, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had said he wanted more time to evaluate Romo before granting him an extension. Romo has thrown for 1,984 yards and 16 touchdowns - both second behind New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady - while leading the Cowboys to a 6-1 record this season.
