FOX's coverage is worse than ESPN and that's saying something..

There's a general trend among all national broadcasts that make it seem like the people watching want to know about everything EXCEPT the game.

It doesnt matter if it's Monday Night Football, Sunday Night Baseball, Fox Satirday Baseball, etc. We get an interview with the star of a new movie or a hit tv show. On Sunday Night Baseball, Jon Miller and Joe Morgan talk about everything that happened in baseball in the prior week. I could understand if this was the 70's and information didnt travel fast...but we know all of this shit already. If Barry Bonds broke the home run record five days ago, I dont need Jon Miller and Joe Morgan to weigh in on it...I've already heard every asshole's opinion on it.

Formatting the broadcasts like that cheapens the game itself. The networks think they are attracting "casual viewers", when in fact, they're doing the total opposite. After all, let's say I'm not really a baseball fan, but I'm a little intrigued by it. I turn on Sunday Night baseball, and I see Miller and Morgan talking about managers getting fired, and the Cubs selling the team, etc., and you know what I'm gonna say to myself? "Why should I care about this game, when the announcers don't even care enough to talk about it!?!?!"

Well obviously, but the promotion began at the start of Game 1, and we heard about it in every game they played, even after it had already happened.

I think people actually watch that poker coverage.. but whatever. ESPN is awful. Their analysts on Gameday College Scoreboard are fucking hideous. Why is Lou Holtz still allowed on television at his age?

I watch the poker coverage. I actually enjoy watching it lol. It's good if you play when you watch the pro's play cuz you can pick up on things and use them in your game.
