Rep Power: 78   | Triple Crown They just mentioned on FOX that Holiday this season was 1st in the NL in average and RBI's and 4th in home runs. Do you think there will ever be another triple crown winner and out of current players who do you think has the best chance? I believe the last triple crown winner was Yaz in '67 but correct me if I'm wrong. | |

Like, if A-Rod or Ortiz bats like .340 next year Personally, i think the triple crown is kinda silly, because HRs and RBIs are so tied together. The HR leaders are usually the RBI leaders, since both are basically power numbers. I think either walks should be the third triple crown stat (since it requires a different skill than the other two), or the triple crown should be something like BA/OBP/SLG. You could add stolen bases, but then there would NEVER be another triple crown winner | |

I still think it's a cool stat because it requires the guy to hit for monster power numbers and a monster average. Guys like Fielder, Dunn, even Howard would probably never come close.. | |
