Simple Question, who do you think are the top 5 overrated coaches?
5. Dick Jauron, BUF, Seriously how does this guy keep getting HCing gigs? He wasn't that great in Chicago, and now he's kinda blowing it in Buffalo, granted they did purge the team
4. Jack Del Rio, JAX, Ok, love Jacksonville, love Del Rio, but he has some damn good talent there, but they always seem to end up mediocre... how is that?
3. Tom Coughlin, NYG, pretty much because he's a motivator, his teams performance seems to coincide with the way he motivates, and like Parcells, you can only motivate a team for so long.
2. Herm Edwards, KC, Anyone who can kill that good of an offense, that quickly, isn't that good of a coach obviously
1. Norv Turner, SDG, How does he keep getting considered? He's a phenomenal Offensive Coordinator. There's no doubt in anyone's mind about that, but everywhere he's been a HC he's failed, and miserably
And I don't think, you see the places inside me that I find you,
And I don't know, how we separate the lies here from the truth,
And I don't know, how we woke up one day somehow thought we knew,
Exactly what we're supposed to do.
So leave me, at the Roadside,
And hang me, up and out to dry,
All of the old coaches are pretty overrated at this point (Gibbs, Parcells, etc). Not because they weren't tremendous coaches, but because I believe the game has passed by their old school approach and they haven't adjusted.. Yet, people still consider them to be among the best in the game. I realize Parcells is out of coaching now, but he'll be back. He always is.
Gibbs got kind of a bad rap the first couple of years back, he was trying to play with players that Spurrier groomed. He seems to be doing all right now though

I think he looks lost. Just look at how he managed the game last week. The Skins outplayed the Packers in every facet of the game and they still lost because Gibbs can't get points on the board.
I cant speak for his in-game strategy or whatever, but twice now I've seen Mike Holmgren absolutely butcher the clock at the end of a game.
Two weeks ago, the Seahawks were down by 11 with 1:55 left in the game, no timeouts. They had 3rd and 10 from the New Orleans 15. They ran a draw play to the fullback that gained 1 yard, then let the clock run down all the way to 1:16 before going for it on 4th down. Hasselbeck threw incomplete, and the Saints knelt on the ball...game over.
You're down 11, less than 2 minutes left. You need to score twice. Why the fuck are you running it WITH YOUR FULLBACK?!?!?!?!?!?! And then now that the play was stopped, why do you go for it on fourth and long instead of kicking the FG? No matter what, you need to recover an onside kick to keep the game alive. Since a FG makes it a 1 possession game, AND keeps the game alive, why wouldn;t you kick the ball there, then try for the extra point???
He did the same thing in the Super Bowl two years ago. Down 11 late in the game, he went for it on 4th down instead of kicking the FG.
Can somebody please explain basic fucking in-game strategy to that fat, walrus-looking fuck???
Holmgren has always been a complete fuck-up when it comes to clock management. Even in his glory days, he could never figure out the clock.
I don't think you can really call either Tom Coughlin or Norv Turner overrated, since the vast, vast majority of football fans think they're both idiots.
majority of fans know this, but why the hell don't the owners?

Mangenius was dubbed way to early, but I think it's too early to call him a bust to. Same goes for guys like, Payton, Linehan, Childress, McCarthy, Whisenhunt, Nolan(the guys never been able to keep his staff), Cameron, Kiffin, Tomlin, and Kubiak
