A-Rod & Torre

They just ran a poll on ESPN on who is more likely to return to the Yankees. Obviously this is the biggest story where I live. Not even the Pats are talked about as much as these two.

So what do you think the Yanks will do and more importantly, what do you think they should do?

Re: A-Rod & Torre

They have no control over the A-Rod situation, and really anyone who says the Yanks should rid themselves of A-Rod is a complete and utter moron. Torre, is really up in the air. Personally if I was Torre, I'd say fuck your decision I'm leaving. Really, I wouldn't want Torre's job.

Re: A-Rod & Torre

Well.. they do have some control. I think either way A-Rod is going to test the market. There's no way Boras is going to let Alex sign with the Yanks for 10 years without looking at other options. Thing is, Cashman has said publicly that if A-Rod opts out he would recommend that the Yanks not negotiate with him. To me that's crazy. If Alex has demands that are just insane, then yeah, move on.. but at least negotiate with him, it's part of the business for a player to test the market especially when this is going to be his last big deal.

You're right about Torre. He should just walk away, bu he loves nothing more then being the Yankee manager, even if he does have to put up with unfair criticism.

Do I think the Yanks have underachieved since 2000? Yes. Do I think it's Torre's fault? No. Do I think anyone could handle this team and the New York media better then Torre? Hell no.
