What are some sports arguments that no matter how many times someone tries to convince you, you simply wont change your mind? For me it's the 1990 AL Cy Young Award. Yes, I still talk about this robbery to this day. Clemens should have 8 Cy Youngs. Here is why.
I highlighted and Bolded certain stats to make it a little easier to follow them since it never transfers well to forums.
In Red are numbers that MLB writers should have looked at hard and the blue highlights are the ones where Clemens is so heavily favored that it boggles my mind that they could have possibly given it to Bob Welch. Who the fuck is Bob Fucking Welch? Uuuuugh. I still hate that guy to this day. He was blessed with the Bash Brothers and tremendous run support to get those extra 6 wins.

I do agree Clemans had insane numbers that year, but 6 more wins is a ton. If it were Welch only won 23 or 24 I think Clemans could had a chance, but 27 holy shit most since 1972.

Won-loss record is an awful way to compare pitchers. It gets skewed by run support and bullpen performance.
Johan Santana got robbed of the Cy Young 2 years ago. Johan had more IP, a lower ERA, a lower WHIP, more strikeouts, less HR allowed, more complete games, more shutouts. Colon was only better in 2 categories: wins and walks. Colon had 2 less walks than Santana
Johan's ERA and WHIP was 2.77 and 0.97. Colon's was 3.48 and 1.16. But because Colon had more wins (21-16), Colon won the Cy Young
The Baseball Writers Association of America is VERY stupid
