I don't care about 500 saves. You have a 2-run lead in the fucking 13th inning of a one-game playoff and you blow it! The only out he even recorded was the one that ended the game! Hahaha..
Wow. That game was nuts. I love the Rockie's lineup... those kids are amazing!
I just like how after the game he didnt make any excuses. He said its on him and is somethign he has to live with. So I respect that from him. And fans will get over it. W/o him, they might of not even been in the position to be in the playoffs.
Hoffman is still one of the best closers ever, in my opinion. I didn't watch the game, but I'm sure he wasn't that bad.
Life goes on. It doesn't really matter anyway since whoever wins the NL will (or at least should) get smoked by the AL Champ.
And now, here it is...your moment of Carlin (12/3/2008)
Violent American movies like Die Hard, Terminator, and Lethal Weapon do very well in places like Canada, Japan, and Europe. Very well. Yet these countries do not have nearly the violence of the United States. In 1989, in all of Japan, with a population of 150 million, there were 754 murders. In New York City that year, with a population of only 7.5 million, there were 2,300. It's bred in the bone. Movies and television don't make you violent; all they do is channel the violence more creatively.

Wait wasn't that supposed to happen last year too? Wasn't Detroit supposed to sweep the Cards out of the water? How'd that go for them, lol. Yeah I know you said should but still, I love all the AL is Superior talk
And I don't think, you see the places inside me that I find you,
And I don't know, how we separate the lies here from the truth,
And I don't know, how we woke up one day somehow thought we knew,
Exactly what we're supposed to do.
So leave me, at the Roadside,
And hang me, up and out to dry,
Yes, they were. Man, you are a wealth of sports knowledge over there!!!!

Well, that's a bad performance for him then I'm afraid. Either way, I still think he's a great closer. It's too bad though that his whole season will be looked back at this one performance.
But when your team needs you, they need you. Put part of the blame on Hoffman's shoulders.

Umm.. not just one performance. The guy blew a game earlier in the week where the Padres could have clinched. Lets face it, can anyone remember a huge save in a big spot by this guy? He's so overrated it's not even funny.
I think the ump made the right call. Holliday didn't touch the plate, but without replay and with his weird slide over the foot of the catcher, it was nearly impossible to see it as it happened. The ump waited to see where the ball was, catcher didn't have it, so he called Holliday safe.
Rockies deserved to win that game. I don't feel sorry for the Padres at all. Blame Hoffman!
