| Ocho Cinco So, what do you guys think about #85 on the Bengals, Chad Johnson Personally, I think he's absolutely hysterical. A lot of people I know dont like him, but I think it's because people have been trained to subliminally detest all outspoken black athletes. There are a couple of things that differentiate him from some of the more obnoxious loudmouths in my opinion. 1. He's genuinely funny. Unfortunately, the vast majority of athletes are not nearly as funny as they think they are. To me, Ocho Cinco is absolutely hysterical. To me, he comes across as being quick with the tongue, but not obnoxious. 2. He seems to get along great with his coaches and teammates. I think he may have had a blow-up or two with Palmer and/or the coaches, but I've heard him in interviews praising Palmer, Coach Marvin Lewis, TJ Houshmandadeh, etc. He seems to have a real respect for his teammates, and they respect him back. 3. His opponents dont seem to be offended by it. Last year, he sent a bottle of Pepto-Bismol to one of his opponents, because trying to defend him would give them an upset stomach. Not only was that clever and funny, but the other team didnt seem to mind. This week, he leapt into the stands and Cleveland, and although some of the fans were puring beer on him or whatever, they seemed to be enjoying themselves. All in all, I think Chad Johnson is an incredibly talented player who is rich in humor and personality. He adds a lot to a football player's enjoyment of the game, both on and off the field Thoughts? | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Ocho Cinco I think he is great. You dont hear a lot of crap about him from the media like say T.O because you can tell eh is a good guy. He jokes around a lot, but he is funny. You can tell he is just messing around. He seems to not cause any sortof problemsin the locker room, and he just really wants to win. I think any team is blessed to have him. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Ocho Cinco I really enjoy Chad Johnson. Like you mentioned, he is an incredibly good wide reciever, and doesn't ruffle people's feathers the wrong way. I find I am rooting for him to get a touchdown to see what his next end zone celebration is. The Bengals have a great thing going, and CJ is one major reason why. I have no issues with him. In fact, wrapping the ball up in a blanket ala a baby was one of the funniest things I've seen. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Ocho Cinco I liked when he picked up the pylon and pretended it was a putter. He putted the football and then did a fist-pump, a la Tiger Woods | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Ocho Cinco I agree with everything said about Johnson but I also like Moss and Owens. I think they get too much shit for what they do.. both seem to be enjoying themselves on their new teams. They've also never been in trouble with the law, ok well Moss was.. but not like these other fuckers like Pacman or Vick. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Ocho Cinco I also really dig Ocho Cinco. Nothing wrong with bringing some emotion, drama and humor to the league. Too many people want to be bad boys like Irvin or Owens, but they fail to realize that people can't stand that type of me me me behavior. Ocho Cinco is just trying to have some fun and make the game more interesting. Kudos to him. I also think he is in a really good offense and can afford to goof around a little. If he was on a shit team with a shit QB and a shit future I wouldnt really want him messing about as much as it could look bad to some. On a side note. Jonathan Papelbon jokes around now that he tells his teammates to refer to him as 'Cinco Ocho' as his number is 58. Good stuff. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Ocho Cinco Quote:
Ya he is happy now, but he is on a winning team. What about when the vikings were not looking good, how did he behave then? What about his stint in the black hole? But I love now that all is well for him, he acts like a new person. Randy Moss is good, I just dont like him as a person. :wank: ![]() | ||||||||||||||||
