The news comes just 24 hours after the disappointing Champions League draw against Rosenborg.
Legard understands that Mourinho has texted senior players, including skipper John Terry, with the news of his departure from Stamford Bridge.

It’s been obvious for quite some time that the relationship between Mourinho and Abramovic hasn’t been good over the last few months. Something must have happened for Jose to finally throw in the towel/or Abramovic to have sacked him.
If the latter has happened then I think it’ll come back to haunt him. Players like Lampard and Terry signed contracts on the basis Jose stayed, and their faith in their owner will be severely dented.
I expect Frank Arnesen (sp?) to take over from Jose at the bridge now. Outside bet might be Juande Ramos. As for Mourinho, What next? I reckon there’ll be a vacancy coming up soon that might interest him… The Bolton Wanderers job!!

Re: Mourinho leaves Chelsea
I heard Avram Grant is taking over temporarily.
From the outside looking in, it does seem as though Chelsea have imploded since following their consecutive titles. The owner seemed to piss off the manager with heavy influence in the signings of two players (Ballack and Shevchenko) that Mourinho never seemed to want or like and, the inclusion of which forced him to move more away from his favoured tactics and style of play.
I'm sure they will counter these arguements by saying that Mourinho left because of the lack of funds in previous years and try to counter anything he says.
To be honest though, if Ballack and Shevchenko were bought in without Mourinho's say so, thus undermining him to the likes of Arnesen, then Jose should have walked away last summer as soon as that happened. Once the manager has his ultimate say revoked (or he thinks he has) then it's time to go.
