Fantasy Football crisis

Hi guys never really posted here but look on here quite a lot. Great Fantasy Football insight here so I figured this would be the best place to ask.

Ok I have Brandon Jacobs of the Giants who got hurt. Supposedly he is out for 3 to 5 weeks. Now I dont know what to do. Do I:

A. Replace him with one of the free agent RB? Best available are Mike Bell (Denver), Michael Turner (SD), and Chris Henry (Ten)

B. Try to make a trade for a different running back? If so, then who?

C. Just put him on the bench for the next few weeks and have Brandon Jackson, Thomas Jones, and Frank Gore as my 3 running backs?

Thanks for all your help guys

Re: Fantasy Football crisis

How many backs do you start per week?

Assuming it's two, there's definitely no reason to drop Jacobs yet. Barring injuries, those free agents you mentioned are worthless; Jackson is a fine temporary backup.

It definitely sucks, but I wouldn't call your situation a crisis.

Re: Fantasy Football crisis

Well you have to start two RBs and two WRs and then theres an extra spot for a RB/WR of your choice. Like this week I started Jackson, Jacobs, and Gore cuz I knew that Jones was goin up against the Pats D. I also have Santonio Holmes and Jerry Porter that I could put in that spot.

Re: Fantasy Football crisis

Then why aren't you using one of them? Holmes just scored a TD this past week and it's well known that the Steelers are going to be more wide open on offense.

Agreed You don't necessarily NEED to start 3 RB's

Overselling. That's how you do it.

Re: Fantasy Football crisis

Yeah i understand, especially cuz the steelers were playin the browns this weekend. I definitely shouldve started Santonio either in the RB/WR or WR. By the way here is my entire line up:

QB: Brees (who sucked)
RB: Gore
RB: Jacobs
RB/WR: Brandon Jackson
WR: Boldin
WR: Darrel Jackson
TE: Dallas Clark
D/ST: Green Bay
K: Scobee

Bench:
Cardinals D/ST
Pennington
Jerry Porter
Holmes
L.J. Smith
Thomas Jones

What do you guys think of my teams. Everyone on my team was pretty much horrible. You know your team had a bad week when your Defense earns you the most points. Theyll get out of it though and hopefully put up some big numbers soon.

Re: Fantasy Football crisis

I would just hold off for right now.

Try to pick up Derrick Ward for the Giants to try to stop the bleeding for a couple weeks. I wouldnt go crazy trying to fix that hole. He is only out for 3-5 and you seem to be doing alright at other positions.

Maybe even just pick up the best available WR for a couple weeks.
