| #5 Michigan stunned by Division I-AA team I know I'm a little late on this but I figuered I'd get some thoughts on the game. I can't even go into detail right now because after watching the highlights there were so many twists and turns to this game to count. Michigan lost 34-32 to App. St. on Saturday and I believe it marked the 1st time a div. I-AA team has beaten a I-A team ranked in the top 25. it's gotta be time for Carr to go. This was supposed to be a team that could go a long way in the national title race with Henne, Hart, Maningham, etc.. all back. I have to mention that App. St. isn't just some crappy ass team, they have won a couple national titles in I-AA. Their team speed is impressive. Still, it's no excuse. Michigan let that offense move at will in front of 100,000 screaming Wolverine fans. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: #5 Michigan stunned by Division I-AA team Well, tbh, a lot of people in their right minds, put AppSt up their with the Iowa type school. It's funny because a couple of their players, said no to USC, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas, Florida, etc. So no these guys are no easy team. I actually commend Michigan for scheduling this team over, "Western Kentucky" | |||||||||||||||

| Re: #5 Michigan stunned by Division I-AA team Hey now. Florida plays in the SEC. They have every right to schedule a shit opponent, I don't blame them one bit. The SEC is still by far the toughest conference in the nation. I hope Tebow's ready and I think he is. But lets be honest here. No matter how good of a team App. St. is, if you're Michigan you cannot allow that to happen at home no less. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: #5 Michigan stunned by Division I-AA team What's even more insulting to Michigan (but not to moi, a Buckeye through and through) is that Michigan was ranked 5 in the Big Ten. While App State obviously weren't push overs, Michigan shouldn't have struggled so much against a Division I-AA team. Period. | |||||||||||||||
| When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. ...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. Luke 21:20-28 | ||||||||||||||||

| Re: #5 Michigan stunned by Division I-AA team They shouldn't have struggled, and whereas the SEC maybe the toughest conference I still find it to be vastly overrated. I have never heard more hype for schools only to be let down | |||||||||||||||

| Re: #5 Michigan stunned by Division I-AA team How is it overrated? We havee this discussion every year on here it seems and every year the SEC proves to be the best. Florida destroyd what some said was an "unbeatable" Ohio St. team and LSU destroyed Notre Dame. Those are the facts. It's nearly impossible to go through the SEC undefeated where as the Big 12, Big 10, Pac-10, it's really not a big deal. USC only has to worry about sometimes Oregon and sometimes California. Texas only has to worry about OU or sometimes Nebraska or sometimes Texas A&M. Every year in the SEC.. it's Florida, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee..at the very least. Then you have teams like Arkansas that creep up. Last edited by Blitzkrieg; 09-03-2007 at 03:54 PM. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: #5 Michigan stunned by Division I-AA team What I'm saying is that it's always EVERY Year it's gonna be 8 teams from the SEC that have 1 or 2 losses and it never lives up to that. SEC is the best conference. I'm not arguing that, I'm arguing that the Media overhypes the SEC worse than Ohio State | |||||||||||||||

| Re: #5 Michigan stunned by Division I-AA team That's the whole point though. It's impossible to have 8 one-loss teams in a conference of 12. My whole thing is that you could take the 6th or 7th best team in the SEC and they'd probably finish in the top 3 of the Pac-10 or Big 12 or ACC and they might even win the Big East. | |||||||||||||||
