Vick won't admit he killed dogs

Chicken fighting is big here in the South. I am absolutely despise it. I can't believe that people can be that cruel to animals.

It is just sad that kids are raised to believe that it is o.k. to abuse animals.

Hold up... don't animals fight every day? I despise what he did and wish he would get more than 5 years. But you say killing a dog is no different than killing a deer is asinine.

well in my faith, maybe someone here like dak, joe, or griff could help me with the verse, but in the bible it says God put the animals here on earth for us to eat.And we do eat deer. Sure you can argue that some kill for sport, but that is just like fishing. Do you get upset when you see people fishing?

For me, I cant even fish because I feel bad for the fish! I know I shouldnt be that way but I just am. Most of the time I cant even kill a bug because I feel bad. But the point is, Killing a Deer is 100 times different then killing a freakin dog.

Vick made a statement to the media today. Here is what he said:

"First, I want to apologize for all the things that I have done and I have allowed to happen. I want to personally apologize to Commissioner Goodell, Arthur Blank, coach Bobby Petrino, and my Atlanta Falcons teammates, for I was not honest and forthright in our discussions.

I was ashamed and totally disappointed in myself, to say the least. I want to apologize to all the young kids out there for my immature acts. What I did was very immature, so that means I need to grow up.

Dogfighting is a terrible thing. I reject it.

I totally ask for forgiveness and understanding as I move forward to better Michael Vick the person, not the football player.

I take full responsibility for my actions … I am totally responsible. I will redeem myself. I have to."

Step #1 is done....he has many more to go.

If he is sincere in his rehab himself as a person speech then he needs to accept the punishment in full from the judge and not appeal it.

If he stays steady in doing what he's doing it will go a long way in forgiveness in terms of the public eye.

He came across and very remorseful and genuine in his statement. It wasnt rehaearsed, he didnt have a written statement that he was reading from...it really seems like he just came from the heart.

I hope he learns from this experience and becomes a better person for it
