I would say I'm most excited to see the progression of Alex Smith. He's looked solid in preseason from what I've seen and he really turned it up last year after a horrible rookie season. We need him to be the future.
The Giants traded Philip Rivers, Shawne Merriman, Nate Kaeding, and a 4th player whom I dont remember (I think its an O-lineman thats still on the Chargers) for Eli Manning!!!
And amazingly...the Vick trade is worse

Hey Tom, also from that 2001 draft...Indianapolis Colts traded their first-round (No. 22) selection to the New York Giants for the Giants first- (No. 30), third- (No. 91) and sixth-round (No. 193) selections. New York selected Will Allen, DB, Syracuse. Indianapolis selected Reggie Wayne, WR, Miami; Cory Bird, DB, Virginia Tech and (No. 193).
and Blade, they got, LaDanian Tomlinson(fifth overall), Drew Brees(thirty-second overall), WR Tim Dwight, and G Toniu Fonoti(thirty ninth overall in 2002)

As good as Tomlinson is, I still think the Giants trade is worse.
That "4th player" you couldn't recall? Marcus McNeill, who made the Pro Bowl at left tackle in his rookie season, and who is still just 23 years old.
