A-hem.

SAY WHAAAAAT?

I'm the biggest WVU fan here (even bigger than Dak) and I'll tell you straight up: there is NO way any team makes Pat White a first-day selection at quarterback. Now he may go on to play QB at the next level -- perhaps he'll even do pretty well -- and there's also a chance he could go first-day at another offensive position... but to put White in the same breath as legitimate NFL 1st-rounders like Brohm and Woodson is ridiculous.

Also, I like Booty a lot better than Henne as a prospect.

(One last thing to throw in regarding Owens: aren't HOF inductees voted on by sportswriters? Aren't most sportswriters, erm... well, not exactly fans of Terrell Owens? That's why I don't think he'd be a lock to get in today.)

(II. Oh, also, to whoever suggested Marvin Harrison isn't a first-ballot lockdown slam-drunk inductee: you're out of your fucking mind.)

See that's the thing, I'm almost positive that someone would take a flyer on Pat White. The Upside is tremendous IMO. I doubt he'll declare this year, but still the potential is there. White in '08 > Vick in '02

It's easy to say that in hindsight after Vick has sexually molested a kennel of dogs and disappointed as a quarterback altogether.

But you're crazy.

The 2001 Vick hype has gone unmatched since. It's one thing to "take a flyer" as you say, and it's plainly obvious some team will on White -- but he won't go anywhere close to the first round, I can guarantee you that.

I also feel the need here to reiterate what a huge Pat White fan I am. He's already one of my all-time favourite college players, and I hope continues his improvement this year as a passer -- because otherwise, he's simply not a pro quarterback.

Re: NFL - HOF if they retired today.

I think West Virginia will make the national title game this year. White will get a little more dangerous in the passing game and with him and Slaton running all over the place, forget it. Big East has no shot.

If sports writers don't select someone to the hall of fame out of personal dislike, then they need to be replaced.

In My Humblest of Opinions, Pat White, will outdo Michael Vick. And I'm not judging on the now I'm saying White has more talent/upside than Vick did
