The whole coaching staff was a joke at the time and there were plenty of times where either they just weren't getting him the ball or Garcia wasn't finding him. I can't count the number of times I watched on that show.. what was it called? NFL Edge or Edge NFL Matchup or something like that where they would show examples of how Owens wasn't being utilized properly.. Lets go back to the year they came all the way back from 38-14 and beat the Giants in the playoffs. It was Owens who got up in the lockeroom at halftime and gave a riveting speech to try and motivate his team and it was him and Garcia who got on the same page and ate apart Seahorn and that Giants' secondary. Th following week they got killed by the Bucs and Owens got pissed because he said the players and the coaching staff quit out there.. which wasn't probably the right thing to say, but it had a lot of truth behind it.. In Philly, there is no doubt that Owens was an asshole but he did work his ass off to get back on the field didn't he? And then in the Super Bowl he ripped it up on the Pats. You can't tell me that the coaching staff didn't mismanage that final drive of that game? Owens again was correct but I agree he was a dick the whole time he was there. Now lets fast-forward to his time in Dallas. He called Romo after the playoff game last year and showed his support for his QB. He motivated him for this upcoming season, and so far the two have gotten along great. I saw an interview recently where Romo said he loved Owens and that he was very much misunderstood. So.. is he a dick sometimes? Definitely. But is he as bad as people say he is? No. And is there a corner that can stop him? Hell no. The End.

Moss and Owens are Misunderstood, and being downplayed because they speak the truth, and don't try to save face. Granted Moss also seems to have some reefer issues, but that's different. I think Moss might need one more good year, which he might get this year, to be a HOFer period, for me he's on the line, but because of the bad rap, he wouldn't get in. I don't see how you can shut Owens out of the HOF at all

There's nothing wrong with being critical, if it's done in a constructive manner. What was constructive about T.O. calling his teammate and QB gay in a magazine article? What was constructive about the team that he was under contract to trying to trade him, in order to appease him, and then crying and moaning and stimping his feet like a baby because he didn't like the team he was being traded to? What was constructive about justifying his salary demands by saying he "wasn't the guy who got tired in the Super Bowl", which was a shot at McNabb. Even if you can blame McNabb for it, how does saying that to the press make the team better? How does saying something like that actually work to change what you're unhappy about? It doesn't. It only makes TO better off, at the expense of his own teammates and the organization for whom he plays. There is positive criticism, which helps EVERYBODY benefit. it addresses problems and presents potential solutions to make everyone involved better off. And then there's selfish criticism, which makes one person look good by making everybody else look bad. And thats what TO has done expertly for the last 5 years. As for the Super Bowl thing, the Eagles did pretty well without TO in the playoffs. After all, they did advance all the way to the Super Bowl without him. So what, the coaches mismanaged ONE drive. Obviously they were doing something right before that, since they made it through 2 and 3/4 playoff games to get to that point... Yes, TO is a ridiculously talented receiver. There is no denying that. And he's not the anti-christ, and I'm sure he's a nice guy on occasion, and all that good stuff. But he does some stuff off-the-field (and on the sidelines) that would make the team around him better off if he didn't do them. Oh, and "telling it like it is" is just a euphemism for "doesn't get along well with others". It's NOT an admirable trait. It's the kind of thing you hear from people who don't value teamwork and don't make sacrifices for other people (I'm not saying this is TO per se...I'm just saying, whenever you hear somebody say "I tell it like it is", that's the kind of person you don't want to spend much time listening to"). "Telling it like it is" is for people who don't look for positivity in a situation, but only look to bring other people down. They claim they're being honest, when they're really being anything but

I'm just telling my side of the story on why I don't hate Owens for wanting to get out of San Francisco. It was better for everyone that he left and the Niners are looking good this year, so I'm excited. Owens provided many memorable moments for my team and I will not forget that. In Philly he was awful, I'll be the 1st to admit, but it looks like he's turning things around in Dallas, and honestly.. when w talk about bad guys in the NFL, shouldn't the 1st names that come to mind be people like Pacman Jones and maybe Vick if he's found guilty? Off the field in his personal life, Owens hasn't gotten in trouble at all. Sorry, but it had to be said, because it's the state of the league. A new guy gers arrested every week. Anyway, I think Owens is a lock for the hall of fame, and I think him and Romo are going to have a good year.

I just hope it doesn't happen while he has a blue star on the side of his helmet And yes, despite being a distraction to his team, he has had zero run-ins with the law. Which is good.

You can look at him right now and say he is 4th all time in TD reception, but there were other before him who were #1 all time at the time they were eligible and still aren't in the HoF... I'll admit I don't remember his name because it was way before my time, but this is an argument that was on the NFL channel last weekend as to why stats can't be considered the only thing to get someone in. Now to my own point... If you look into the NFL Hall of Fame what you are going to see with EVERY member that is in there the one thing they all have in common above the rest is they were a leader in some way to their team. They were team players with different personalities, but none as destructive as T.O. or a Randy Moss... Irvin has a flamboyant personality and was mixed in with some bad things off the field, but on the field was a leader and was not destructive to the team around him... which T.O and Moss have BOTH come to be... T.O. with more than one team. That is why if I was given a ballot with his name on it and someone like a Brandon Stokely or other less known WR... the check would go by the lesser known or no check would be made at all.

Will get in, irregardless of what happens from here in out. He's just got to much. Unless the committee is all like... NO NO TO! then he's pretty much screwed.
