This is fucking dumb. Kobe' raped a bitch and nobody protested nor said he should play sports ever again. give the man his fair day in court. I'm sorry a bunch of tree huggers feel the need "protest" but A guy should not lose his career off of an accusation.

But the difference here is that Vick has been indicted in a federal court which means that more then likely th Feds have a substantial amount of evidence stacked against him. 95% of all federal cases in the last I believe 5 years have ended in a conviction.

And We are talking about KILLING DOGS. In a horrible horrible way. For entertainment? And because the dogs didn't fight well enough? Give the guy a break?

And isnt it a pretty well known fact now that Kobe didn't ''rape'' that girl. She was just a young I feel bad for saying it ''slutty'' girl who afterwards wanted fame and attention.

The Feds probably know alot more then we know. They wouldnt of got involved otherwise. There has been statements from people saying Vick is nvolved in dog fighting. They say he is a ''high roller''.

The fact is, Vick is a sick man. And I just hope he doesn't get away with a slap on the wrist. I hope the Falcons release him, and he gets sent to prison.

shit, I posted a lengthy post from home this morning, but my comp froze, and I was hoping it would be here when I got to the office.

I think we have to give him the benefit of the doubt until the trial happens. Our legal system is one of the things that makes this country so great, as opposed to say, Afghanistan when the Taliban was ruling, or Iran.

If Michael Vick is found guilty, then yes, he should go to jail and he should never step foot on an NFL field ever again. He should lose all his endorsements.

But I think it's irresponsible to call for his head before the trial happens, or at least until we've seen/heard the evidence.

Didn't we learn anything from the Duke lacrosse case? Weren't they just a bunch of priveleged, spoiled rich kids who thought they could get away with anything they want? Just like how Vick is supposedly a thug with a fat contract who thinks he can do whatever he wants?

As for the Federal case thing, there is still that 5% of cases that don't lead to convictions. Also, just yesterday I read a story about two guys who were awarded $101 million each from the US Government, because they were framed by the FBI. So let's not put it past the Government to do something shady...

I understand Tom, my post was directed towards Jako who wanted to know why everyone is already treating Vick as if he's guilty.. I believe a large portion of the people are looking at this federal case and saying "they must have something here" or they wouldn't have brought this to trial.

The Duke case, and correct me if I'm wrong, was lead by a regional DA who had nothing and was trying to make a name.

This is WAY different the the Duke case.

I understand what you are saying Tom. This is america and a person should be innocent until proven guilty. But I just feel so strongly about this. I am a huge dog lover and maybe my feelings and emotions get in the way of what is 'fair''.

But there is just too much info for me to even think he might not be guilty. I mean, if you have a house, even if you dont visit there often, you would know about 30 dogs there in cages and all the equipment and everything. Why would random people just come out and say Vick is involved other then to maybe get a light sentence of there own.

Of course Vick is going to say he is not guilty, who knows, he might be ruled Not guilty but that might just be for a lack of evidence.

I totally understand the points you guys are making. But to have people demonstrating outside of Falcons training comp (Attention PETA: He's not even there you fucking dimwits!) and shit like that is absolutely ridiculous.

Let's just say, hypothetically, that the NFL and the Falcons listened to PETA. Michael Vick would be cut from his contract, lose his job, lose all his endorsement money, etc. The same shit that would happen to him AFTER a guilty verdict.

Now what if Vick is found not guilty. What if, hypothetically, Vick was never actually at the house, and had no knowledge of what was going on? Then he's lost his job for no reason, and he can probably sue the NFL and the Falcons for unlawful termination, lost wages, or whatever else. And, PETA and all the protestors will look like assholes.

Or, the other alternative is to wait for the legal system to make its judgement on Vick's innocence or guilt, and THEN vilify him, saving a lot of people a lot of potential embarrassment (unlike the Duke LAX case, or the Kobe case)

Put another way, as third party observers, we have two options. We can go crazy and be all shocked and outraged without knowing fully the details of the situation, and run the risk of looking silly if we're wrong.

Or, we can exercise a little patience, wait until the details surface and/or a verdict is handed down, and then pass judgement.

I choose the latter option
