| Who's Now? ESPN is running a 32-athlete tournament to determine who is the best overall sports star (both on the field and off). Each day viewers vote for who wins that days 1-on-1 matchup. Athletes from all sports are in this, and they are even ranked from 1-8 in 4 different regions. The competition will continue through 5 rounds until the finale, where an ultimate champion is crowned. For example, today's matchup is multiple Grand Slam winner Roger Federer vs. NBA champion Tony Parker. Previous matchups have pitted: Maria Sharapova vs. Vince Young, Jeff Gordon vs. Barry Bonds, Derek Jeter vs. Sidney Crosby, Dale Jr vs. Chuck Liddell. What I don't like about this tournament is that it's just a popularity contest. The rankings are done by overall popularity, let's face it, and at current time, there have been no upset of seeds. So seeds 1-4 have always beaten 5-8. I think it's a good concept, however if Parker goes over Federer, arguably the best tennis star in recent memory, I'll stop voting. Head over to ESPN.com and check out the players. Who would win for you in the tournament? Any upsets that you see coming? Any past matchups that you agree/disagree with? | |||||||||||||||

| Re: Who's Now? This "contest" is supremely retarded...it's so contrived and silly, and will not matter to sports fans whatsoever. | |||||||||||||||
