Any One Been Keeping Up With The NHL Off Season?

Its been a pretty interesting off season so far alot of big signings have been happening around the leauge lately and the NHL Entry Draft just ended not to long ago. Personally its been geting me kind of excited for hockey again for the first time since the Lock out happened.

Todd Bertuzzi signed a Two Year deal with The Mighty Ducks along with fellow red winger Mathieu Schneider. Chris Drury and Scott Gomez apparently signed some of the biggest deals in the off season, both going to the Rangers. Brandon Sutter enters in to the NHL at the 11th pick in the draft, I can't be the only one excited about this off season can I?

They aren't the mighty ducks anymoe cuz disney owns that copyright I thought. I would watch hockey if there were mad fights in it thought like the old days. I hate the european style of all teh skating. Make the rinks smaller liek the old boston garden.

Re: Any One Been Keeping Up With The NHL Off Season?

They'll always be the Might Ducks in my heart Rambo, always v,v

Alos there still qiute abit of fighting in Hockey, Some teams elect to go the route of having finess players while most teams will have more then afew people on there teams who will be willing to just toss there body at people for a check, usually ending in a fight. Just ask Dion Phanuef (knocked a goalie on his ass from a Slap shot and hit a guy so hard that he swallowed his mouth guard >.>)

And honestly I think if the NHL adapted a Bigger Ice Surface like the IIHF has for there tournys they'd be getting bigger and more hits in a game. The bigger ice surface allows for guys to step in to checks with a bit more stride then usual.

Re: Any One Been Keeping Up With The NHL Off Season?

All I know is that the Rangers have been doing big things. My cousin works for them, and we usually take the subway into Manhattan for work together, but he's been working crazy hours now, so I havent had a chance to speak with him yet...

As for the fighting/bigger rinks thing, I think the rinks should be bigger just so that it can open the ice and make for a more exciting, higher-scoring game.

I think the NHL should use Olympic sized Hockey Rinks, End Of Story, and they need to go back to the countdown clock.

Re: Any One Been Keeping Up With The NHL Off Season?

Setember is preseason-ish October I think is when everything starts up Phantom, I can't wait the lack of any sport besides baseball is killing me v,v

It looks like its going to be a last season for a lot of vets this year, Scott Niedermayer may return for a season, Teemu Selanne is probably returning for another season with the Ducks before retirment (thank god). Hasek signed a one year deal with the Red Wings and "Super" Joe Sakic signed a one year deal to return to the Avs and play with Ryan Smyth.

Peter Forsbergs still a Free Agent to

Should be a good season this year with all the signings and new players. if only the NHL would get off the phail tastic versus network so people in the US could see half the games.

EDIT: I just found out Paul Kayira signed with the St.Louis Blues can anybody say barf?
