Wigan second row forward Gareth Hock has been ruled out of contention for Great Britain's team to face France in Leeds on Friday.
He has failed to recover from the shoulder injury which prevented him from making his first Wigan start of the season against Catalans Dragons.
Hock impressed on his Lions debut in last year's Tri-Nations and would have hoped to impress new coach Tony Smith.
His absence leaves Smith with a 22-strong squad to select from.
