Free agent forward Grant Hill has agreed to sign with the Phoenix Suns for a one-year, $1.2 million dollar contract.

Hill spent the past seven years with the Orlando Magic . He endured numerous injuries during his tenure with the Magic and never re-gained the all-NBA status he possessed earlier in his career with the Detroit Pistons .

This past season, he averaed 14.4 points per game and helped lead the young Magic to their first playoff berth in four years.

Considering how much more he could have got to play elsewhere, I gained worlds of respect after seeing Hill sign for so little to play for a contender. I already knew he was a good guy and someone to root for, but I really admire the fact that he's in it to win now.

(This month, there have actually been borderline-NHLers signing for more money than that.)

Yeah, well obviously the Suns are my team, but even tho' Grant hasn't been playing his full potential, I see a lot of great things comming from him this year !!

70 win season .. (not only because of him, but this HAS to be their year !!)

What's funny, Grant Hill will get paid 1.2 million, he's better than Joel Przybilla, who will get in the range of 7.5 million

To glorify my platinum soul
I am the closest thing to God
So worship me and never stop.
The selfish blood runs through my veins
I gave up everything for fame
I am the life that you adore
I feed the rich and fuck the poor.
This is entertainment
Lives are entertainment
You are down on your knees
Begging me for more.

Thats so odd, picking up ten fouls even in summer leauge is a hell of alot of fouls. Oh yeah Durant scored 17 points in his first game <,<

Re: NBA Official Off Season Thread

Free-agent center Darko Milicic agreed in principle to a three-year contract with the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, the player's agent Marc Cornstein told ESPN.com Insider Chad Ford.

Cornstein refused to disclose the amount of the deal, but the starting salary is believed to be for substantially more than the $5.3 million mid-level exception.

"We are extremely excited for this new opportunity," Cornstein said. "Darko's going to a team that really wants him. He's going to a young team with an exciting bright future much like his own. We're very excited Darko gets to learn from coach Marc Iavaroni. We believe he's one of the best big men coaches in the game. And we couldn't be happier that he has found a new home where he's appreciated."

Re: NBA Official Off Season Thread

I still laugh at the fact that Darko was supposed to be one of the better rookies in the league when he came into the league but really has been a let down since then and has shown nothing that we expected. But, with the grizzles he may finally be able to show the fans and critics why he went so high in the draft.

Re: NBA Official Off Season Thread

Yush Jako is actually happy with this move. He showed a few signs of being a real good player and we needed a big man. I hope it wasn't too much money, but being as he's young he's got great upside.

Yeah, he may young but what's a young player who is chocking year after year? But, I do agree with you Jako, he did show some signs last season, but honestly, if he wants to have a career in the NBA, he's going to have to step it up this season to prove a lot of people wrong including myself.

True, however he was considered a "project player" when he was drafted back in 03. He was a very young kid who wasn't used to the NBA game. I think he can turn out to be a really nice player in the NBA, however he'll be overshadowed by everyone else on the draft class.
